"Did I say I was done...?" I coughed harshly in my hand, blood in my palm but I hid it from everyone and stood up. Knowing that using my power all day and not eating anything other than two granola bars.
My ribs throbbed in pain, the kick Poppy delivered was strong and I hadn't even seen it before it was too late. I wasn't sure whether my b.l.o.o.d.y cough was caused by the lack of power or the kick, but either way, I was not feeling as energetic to fight back their protests.
Even Archmage Seria seemed a little uncomfortable now, seeing it was more of a one-sided fight rather than an actual test.

High Priestess Dawn was starting to p.i.s.s me off as well since she was trying her d.a.m.ned hardest to make my decisions for me. We were both glaring at each other before a shadow loomed over me, blocking the sunlight from harming me either way.
"You are done, Faye." A sharp voice says, hauling me off the ground and throwing me over a buff shoulder. A cough me again I tried escaping the hard grip, my ribs protesting at the shoulder touching them.
"Good. Stop this monstrosity and take her to the room. The Archmages and I have much to discuss. We'll be back once we've come to a decision about you, Faye." High Priestess Dawn seemed very relaxed at the sight of me not fighting anymore when I growled and dug my nails into Zavier's back, trying to crawl out of his grip.
"a.s.shole. Let me go." I sneer deadly while he started walking his hand close to my a.s.s making me dig my nails further into his back. "Let me go!" I yell at him, thrashing in his hold before he huffs and dropped me on the ground.
My back hit the ground once again causing my ribs and arm to protest in pain but I was still able to glare at him deadly up at him. His cold green eyes just staring down at me when I stood up and brushed the dirt from my pants.
"I don't care if you hate me now or if my very existence hurts your eyes but-" I reached up at him, s.n.a.t.c.hing his collar and forcing him down to my face level. "-I will win you back slowly, but for now I need to leave. So don't miss me to much mate." I snip at his bottom lip, letting his collar go before turning away and entering the coven.
I heard his steps behind me, the bewildered look on his face implanted on my mind as I entered the room beside his. Seeing that it was empty except for the bed and dresser.
Perfect.
I took the spare bedroom beside his.
I turn around quickly, seeing that he was at my doorway looking like he was saying something but nothing was registering for some odd reason. I went to say something but I felt the air escaping my throat feeling a chill running down my spine.
He's here.
What is he doing here...?!
I looked up frantically, trying to find the right words but my body hates me. Forcing me to pa.s.s out from the stress and panic entering into my system.
〰 Zavier 〰
"Just because I told you we were mates doesn't mean any-" Her face spiraled in horror causing me to stop speaking, her fingers revealing that her body was shaking a little bit.
I wasn't sure whether to worry or not.
Not knowing if she was lying about her true feelings even now.
But the look on her face when she looked up at me made everything inside me worry for the deceiving woman. The terrified look in her eyes causing my heart to mellow out for her.
"Faye. What is it-"
Her eyes closed slowly, her body looking ragged before she dropped to the ground. Thankfully though, I was able to catch her before her head could hit the ground. Her body felt weak against mine, clear signs that she's been starving herself making me frown deeply.
Why did she have to torture herself if everything had been a lie?
The door slammed open before I could think anymore, High Priestess Dawn looking at both of us with large frightened eyes. It was as if the terror Faye felt was almost transferred to her.
"Come with me. Leave Faye here and I'll make sure the door is guarded." She said not giving me a moment to question her as she hurried out of the room. Quickly, I laid Faye on the bed before darting out of the bedroom and closing it behind me.
"What's hap-"
"Where is she? I know she's here. My darling mate is here." A man's voice bellows as High Priestess Dawn put a shield barrier on the room that Faye was in.
"Don't ask questions right now. We have to go settle this issue." She was speaking to me as if I knew what was happening, and I was going to play along if it had anything to do with Faye.
I may be beyond furious with her, but we are in fact mates for life so I will protect her until my very last breath.
"Harold. Please calm down. What are you even talking about mate? You've found her before?" Seria questions the man while Dawn and I rounded a corner and saw a man speaking with Seria. Seria seemed utterly confused but the look on Harold's face held what feared Dawn.
Darkness and l.u.s.t.
"What is it you want, Harold? Is there anything you desire here?" Dawn's voice seemed very tight with emotion when I glanced down at her and saw p.r.i.c.kles of distress in her eyes.
Who was this man?
"Oh High Priestess Dawn. You know where she is. I know you do. I'll have you know it was consensual." He purred, the sound causing a flush of anger run down my spine. He shouldn't be speaking with Dawn this way, it was wrong.
Not even I would speak with her this way with everything happening in my life. He had no right to.
"You better apologize for speaking to her in that way. She is the High Priestess, not someone you can control, a.s.shole." I sneer, for some reason hating him the moment my eyes laid on him.
He turned his attention to me, his sharp green eyes almost identical to my own though he had dirty brown hair that looked like mud. His crooked smile revealed the fangs that layed underneath making me immediately think of vampire however his had claws outstretched.
Wolf.
Why was he here?
"Now now. I know its shocking to see a half wolf half wizard but must you be so rude? It's a wonder you are a full wolf. You mutts are bats.h.i.t crazy with power." He insults making me growl at him in a deadly way.
A hybrid?
I've never seen someone like him.
"You better shut your f.u.c.king mo-"
"Harold. Please let Seria show you to your room. Zavier. Come." Dawn stopped me before we got into a fight, both of us glaring at one another while Dawn grabbed my arm and pulled me away.
"I will find her, High Priestess. Whether you hid her or not. She won't escape me this time." He told us as we disappeared around the corner. Her small hands holding onto my forearm tightly, unsure if I would decide to go back and kick his a.s.s.
She continued dragging me, her steps fast when we entered a familiar office. High Priestess Dawn shut the door quickly and locked it as if there was someone after us while her eyes snapped to me.
"We have to get that man out of here before he finds her. That b.a.s.t.a.r.d is a complete liar. I should have read his memories when I first let him into the coven." She spoke more to herself when hurrying past me and to her desk. "It's a good thing my mate doesn't know of this tragedy..." She mumbles to herself, not remembering that I had werewolf hearing to catch every kind of noise or words.
"Explain from the beginning. I have no idea who that jacka.s.s out there is and I have no idea who he is looking for." I made her pause while I watched her slowly walked around to me with her hands shaking by her side.
"I am going to show you something from your mates memories. Whether she's told you or not, it doesn't matter at this point. There are things that she wanted to hide from you, but those things are catching up to her now. May I?" She motioned to my head when I nodded, thinking about what it was Faye was keeping from me this time.
High Priestess Dawn reached up to my head, grasping it with her suddenly cold hands and closed her eyes. I was waiting for whatever it was she was doing before I felt myself going down a hole.
My mind left me as I was thrust into an illusion, screams and darkness around me while I spun around trying to figure out where and what was happening. The deathly scream I heard was nowhere to be found as if they were stuck beyond the caves of the illusion when I noticed a small girl curled up in the corner.
"They're going to come. I hear them all over the place." Her dainty hand went around her face that was covered by her dark hair. "They're going to force me to learn a spell again. It's my fault I disobeyed them... But those b.a.s.t.a.r.ds aren't going to make me kill a child!" Her hand clenched into a small fist while a choked sob left her chest.
I walked over to her quickly, reaching out for her but nothing happened. My hand just went through her, reminding me that this was an illusion.
Slowly, the door creaked open making the girl shot off the ground and huddled against the wall. Her red terrified eyes looking to the door when there was a sickening scream that sounded louder than before.
What was this place?
Who was this girl?
Before I even realized what happened, a body was thrust into the room causing the young-no- teenage girl choke back a scream. Her eyes staring at the body at the ground with misery.
"This is what happens when you don't follow our orders. Next time won't be good." A dark, hollow voice says as the door shut. The lifeless body on the ground causing the teenager to sob and drop to the ground where the body was.
"YOU SICK b.a.s.t.a.r.dS!" She screamed, turning the body over and revealing a young girl who was clearly dead. The teenager pulls her dirty hair over her shoulder and leaned down to check their heartbeat.
I stared in disbelief, the teenager shaking in fury lean away from the dead girl when looking around for something. My eyes widened realizing I was seeing Faye's memories and her childhood.
The thought of this was how she grew up made everything inside of me hurt and p.i.s.sed me off.
How could they make a young girl go through this all?!
Faye slowly stood up, her eyes flared with pure anger while she cast a spell at the door of her cell. I watched in pure amazement as her will to continue fighting only grew stronger even after a young girl dying in front of her eyes.
"YOU SON OF A b.i.t.c.hES! LET ME OUT OF HERE! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU ALL!" She roars angrily, the illusion disappearing and another coming forth. I noticed that we were still in the room and I wasn't sure how much time had pa.s.sed since the last illusion but I could tell that she was burnt out.
Her naturally red hair a dirty dark brown with scratches on her face and dirt covering her body. The clothes she was wearing barely covered her but it didn't look like she cared that much. The anger I saw earlier, burning with rage now while I felt the hatred she had from here.
Slowly, the door opened as a man walked into the room. His face was masked while he stepped over the dead girl on the ground. Faye slowly stood up, her fingers held into a tight fist when the man stared down at Faye.
"Don't forget I saved y-"
Faye slapped him in the face, her face shifted into a scowl before the man glared down at Faye and slammed her against the wall causing her to yelp out loud. His hand was around her throat as she trying prying it away from her neck.
"You didn't save me. You killed me!" She shouted at him when his grip around her throat tightened.
"Your parents threw you out of their home. I found you and saved you. Don't forget that you would have died if I didn't pick you up." He reminds her, strangely not in an angry way but a stern way.
"Then you should have let me died, you b.a.s.t.a.r.d. I want to go back. Where is Ajax? Is he alright?" She fired questions about Ajax, surprising me that even in times like this she was worried for Ajax.
My heart warmed for her but darkened for anyone in the Leauge.
"I will return you home on one condition." The man tells her as she grits her teeth and listened to him. "You will learn to hex a man. This man has information that I need so after you do this you may return to Ajax." It looked like Faye had no idea what hexing meant as she stared at him blankly.
My throat tightened as she nodded without a word and allowed him to drag her through the doorway and leave the dead child on the ground. I stayed close behind them, not wanting to remove my eyes from Faye's form before the screams came back into the illusion.
I noticed a door opened and was beyond shocked when I saw that there was a woman strung up, being whipped by another young teenager. The crazy in the teenager's eyes seemed to send a shiver through my spine.
In all my years, I never thought this was what the league did to young people.
Faye was flung onto the ground while she bared her teeth at the man who was forcing her into the room. I slipped into the room before the door closed, seeing a man tied up in a chair.
He looked to be in his late twenties, about five years older than Faye as she struggled to stand up and stared at the man with pity.
"Control him now. Use your s.e.xuality and power. He will fall to your spell." The man ordered Faye when she looked at the ground and brought her eyes to the man in the chair.
"I am sorry." She whispers, holding her hand out and closing her eyes. The man in the chair started to stir before groaning loudly and looked up. Blood ran down his bruised eye as Faye started to take control of him causing him to snarl loudly and strain against the bounds around his hands.
I watched horrified when an ear-piercing roar left his throat when the man who was forcing Faye to do this left her alone. Faye spun around once she was done with her onslaught, looking around fearful as the man panted heavily.
With her spell complete, she quickly rushed over to the man oblivious to what she's done and untied him. Her worried eyes staring down at him while he continued panting heavily.
"I am so sorry. But to make this feel better, you need to co-"
"Mate." He breathed making everything within me shut down.
"Let me heal you. I don't have much ti-" Before Faye finished her words, the man slammed her on the ground and tore at her clothes. "LET ME GO! I'M ONLY TRYING TO HELP!" She screamed frightened when the man ignored her, the illusion disappearing quickly before I saw anything else. Though the pair of green eyes haunted me and caused anger to build within me.
I'm going to f.u.c.king kill him.
