"Lovely to see you in the daylight again, Luna. Why are you here? Is there anything you need?" One of the older ladies, Betty, asked me as her blonde bob bounced up and down with every step she took.
"Oh no, Ma'am. I am just waiting to see if I am going to become the trainer. I heard that the previous trainer was retiring and I was going to take over. I hope that isn't a problem to either of you." I inform them as smiles rose on their old faces.
"Why of course dear. It's always lovely to see you, Luna. I'm sure the pack would be honored to be trained by you. You are the strongest out of all of us." The other older lady, Danielle, says to me sweetly making me smile to her.
"Thank you for your kind words ladies. I really appreciate it. You ladies remind me why I remain here." I admit causing both of them to release kind laughs.
"It's no problem dear. I hope to see you training my grandson in the near future, Luna. After all, you saved him from the rogue vampire." Danielle tells me seriously but in a gentle way making me smile more to myself.
I've saved a lot of people here due to rogue attacks.
It's only reasonable to be liked by everyone around me.
I actually liked the feeling of being liked by others.
"I will be sure to train him in the best way I can. Thank you for trusting him in my care." I thank the woman as she resting one of her hands on my arm and nods to me.
"Of course dear. We must take the first leave. I promised to go to my daughters baby shower. Please excuse the both of us." Danielle tells me before both of the old ladies left but waved their goodbyes before leaving me.
I waved back and allowed my hand to drop by my side once again when the back door opened revealing the three people I've been waiting for the last hour. My posture tensed a little, hating the fact that I had no idea what had happened in the room with Zavier.
I always hated people speaking behind my back and this was one of the only times I would ask someone to do so.
"So? What'd he say?" I ask them, my fingers twitching a little bit while Claire and Alex shared a look causing me to grow cautious. "What is it?" I growl, not liking their reactions.
"He wants to be present at all the training secessions and the previous trainer wants to test your skills before you begin to train the other pack members," Ajax told me when I felt myself grow angry and turn away frustrated.
"What am I? Twelve?" I snarl underneath my breath as Ajax came around and grabbed my shoulders.
"It's not that. There are many candidates for being the overall trainer. The previous trainer is picking from the best of them all. And Zavier... Just don't even pay attention to him alright? He isn't going to be there to pester you, he's just going to be there for the first few training secessions. It's not all the time." He told me seriously trying to pull me back to his attention.
"Was it you that said this was a bad idea? I'm suddenly agreeing with you." I said in a snarky tone and shoving his hands off my shoulders. "Don't try to make this any better," I warn him while brushing past him and hitting my shoulder against his hard enough to make him stagger back a little bit.
"So what? You're gonna give up? I never knew you were that weak." Ajax scoffed making me stopped and clench my fists and turn to him once again.
"You have no right to say that to me." I snap at him taking a step towards him. "You have no idea how much I've done for this d.a.m.n pack that I am not even apart of. Do you even know how many people I've saved? How many people call me their true Luna? No? I thought so. So don't you dare act like you know me." I throw in his face and turned away from him once again.
"Then you should have no reason to refuse this, Xenon. In their world, you are more a part of this pack just as their family and friends are. I would accept you not doing this if you felt like you couldn't do it, but I will not allow you to decline this opportunity because of a man. You are better than that Xenon." Ajax tells me truthfully when I glanced behind me and noticed his disappointed face.
I wasn't sure when he grew up, but G.o.d d.a.m.n he grew up.
He was more mature than I was at this point and that was disappointing to admit since I was a few years older than him. Plus I was usually the rational one and here he was being the mature one.
My eyes tore away from his face and up at the window, a faint outline of a man at one of the large windows overlooking the yard. Something inside of me told me it was Zavier watching the both of us argue.
I wasn't sure what his end plan was, but whatever it was. I didn't trust him one bit.
"You must think of me as a better person then, Ajax. I will be taking my leave." I nod to three of them and let my gaze linger at the window for another second before turning away.
"If you change your mind, the trail is today at sunset," Ajax informs making me frown and disappear without another word.
〰〰〰
"I can't believe this s.h.i.t." I cursed more to myself while sitting in a tree and watching the trail from above, seeing the worthless wannabe trainers barely doing the deeds.
If the a.s.sa.s.sins decided to attack the trainers, they'd have no chance and this was hurting my eyes to even watch.
"If you can't believe it, why aren't you done there showing them how it's supposed to be done?" A voice broke out underneath me nearly making me fall out of my hiding spot. Clutching onto my chest, the pendant shined brightly green as the red beneath me shined as well.
I wasn't sure whether to be surprised that I didn't detect him coming up to me or angry that he was in my presence.
My heart felt like it was going to burst out of my chest while I swallowed down my nerves and narrowed my eyes down at the man.
"What do you want?" I hissed, standing from the tree and inching myself higher away from the man who literally haunted my memories and every little thought of mine. It felt like I could never leave the thought of him.
"It's been awhile. Just saw you scolding my future trainers. Thought I'd get your input on the newbies." He says, a hint of amus.e.m.e.nt in his voice kind of irritating me a little bit.
"They suck. Their technique and moves are so slow that it horrifies me that you are even thinking of these boys being the next trainer. Also, by the look on the trainers face it seems like he is second-guessing his choice in retiring. I almost feel bad since he may not be able to retire right at the moment. They are that bad." I criticized, seeing no room for improvement for the boys.
It was so disgraceful and their moves were scaring me.
And I am a f.u.c.king a.s.sa.s.sin.
Was an a.s.sa.s.sin.
"Then why aren't you out there? We both know that you can kick all their a.s.ses with one hand and no magic." He compliments making me roll my eyes and continue watching the kids.

"A child could kick their a.s.ses, but that's beside the point. I am not going to be babysitted while you or the previous trainer tell me how to teach them. I refuse to be told how to teach them to fight." I told him as he scoffed and crossed his arms, the scar on his forearm still there from the fire.
The scar bringing back memories that I've tried to ignore with all my power.
"Do you truly mean that or are you just too weak to admit you don't want to work in the same atmosphere with me?" He asks, s.c.r.e.w.i.n.g with my reasoning and excuse for not being in the trail causing me to narrow my eyes at the man again.
"Fine. I'll show you then." I said, my petty levels raising when I teleported over to the training area and looked around at the bewildered faces. "I'm here to be in the trail, boys. I've been here the whole time so let me make this easy for each and every one of you." I stretched my muscles.
"Is this even allowed? She's like thirty minutes late!" One kid screeches when another scoffs and showed off his muscles.
"Plus this is a man job. Not a women's job." He told me while holding his hand to his mouth to tell me something directly. "It's okay, honey, there is a salon down that way and-"
I marched over to him and threw a punch into his face stopping him from the prejudice towards me. He snarls loudly as I gripped the man's arm and swept his foot off the ground.
I held onto his arm while he fell to the ground, a loud crack making the other boys wince. The man's arm I was holding onto fell limp as he roared in pain and shoved me away with his other arm.
"If you think popping your arm out of your socket is a man's job. Go ahead and keep talking. I can do so much worse things to you that you would ever think a woman could do." I said darkly, my grin looking like a s.a.d.i.s.tic smile that made a few boys back down.
The man that I hurt didn't say a word but stood up and backed away, allowing me to take the rightful place making me take a deep breath and smile at him normally.
"I thought so... So... I'm not going to heal you only cause you disgraced all women. But if you come back and apologize, I will forget about this incident." I said seriously when turning away from him and smirking. "Now get out of my sight." I snap causing him and a few other guys to run off in fear.
The previous trainer was staring at me in a proud way while I nodded to him and held my hand out to him.
"I don't think we've had introductions. I am Xenon, known as the deadliest killer out there. Nice to be your acquaintance." I said politely when he chuckled and shook my hand.
"Nice you meet you, Xenon. I am Jeramy Blazer. Call me Jeramy, though." He nods to me, the wrinkles around his eyes seemed happy about me revealing myself as he let my hand go. "Let's get back to the trail then." Jeramy walked ahead while the remaining men hurried to follow him.
I glanced back, seeing Zavier staring at me with a grin on his lips. The pendant around his neck shining red as mine shined bright green. Quickly, I looked away and took a deep breath before following the others to the next trial.
〰〰〰
"Aren't you going to run to the top?" One of the men asks me before the others took off like their lives depended on it. I smiled at him and took slow steps towards the line and joined up with the man who was asking me the question.
"Haven't you heard of the story of the tortoise and hare? I have a feeling those boys will tire themselves eventually. It is not about the race that this lesson is teaching. The lesson is if there is a goal you're achieving, will you race to gain the goal without thought or will you take your time to gain the achievement? I'd rather take the time." I tell him, his brown eyes lighting up with inspiration.
"Really?" He asks amazed before I laughed out loud.
"Of course not. I just don't want to run." I told him truthfully and burst into laughter at the look on his face. "I always love messing with you, younger ones," I admit as he huffed and rolled his eyes at me.
"I don't understand why everyone thinks of you as the true Luna. You're a meanie." The man says, sounding like a child for a second.
"I don't know why either. Maybe because I've saved your Alpha countless times and protected the pack for the last two years. Though I don't think they call me the true Luna because of that. That's completely ridiculous, right?" I ask him, sounding like an a.s.shole but I didn't care.
"No need to be rude about it." He huffs when I shrugged and stuffed my hands into my pockets. "By the way. If you do all this stuff, why aren't you apart of the pack? Surely Alpha would accept you into the pack without a second thought." The man points out as I chuckled and shook my head.
"That would expose my ident.i.ty. And I am not ready for the world to know the true killer behind this hood." I explain to him, knowing it was a useless excuse but it was mine. There was no way that they'd know my true ident.i.ty.
Not yet at least.
"But is it even worth hiding anymore? Everyone adores you, even the killer you. So what makes it different?" The man comments while I sighed and rose my hands behind my head.
"You're young. You wouldn't understand anything, kid. Like for instance, I know that there are a few a.s.sa.s.sins in the forest around us but they don't want to attack us quite yet." I inform him quietly before the man looked at me bewildered and scoffed.
"Yeah right. You're just saying that to scare me." He still looked around, seeming paranoid about the forest around us. The darkness crawling around us, his sight better than my own since he was a wolf.
"If I was just saying that. Why are you looking around like a lot puppy?" I ask him with a small smile. "You best leave before things get dirty," I tell him seriously and stopped in my tracks. "I can detect a vampire and witch com- G.o.d d.a.m.n it, Claire!" I curse before a shining fire bolt came at the both of us.
I shoved the kid out of the way, the fire licking my shoulder and making me hit the ground hard. My shoulder burned in pain while I saw a shadow roam around me.
"Run, kid! You're no chance against these f.u.c.kers!" I order, launching my foot into the air and kicking the s.h.i.t out of the vampire that Claire had contacted a day or two ago.
"Yes, Ma'am! I'll- I'll go get help!" The kid jumped off the ground and shifted into his wolf, running for it while Claire laughed out loud and aimed her palm towards the wolf running away.
"No way! I have the chance to kick their a.s.ses! And I'm allowed! There's no way-"
"Lux!" I screamed, a bright light shooting from my palms and blinding both of the people trying to bring us down. Her firebolt missed the retreating wolf making her snarl and turn to me angrily.
"G.o.d d.a.m.n it Xenon! I was ordered to make this harder for a few of the people running in the trial!" She barked angrily when I dove away from the vampire's punch and grabbed his arm.
"I'm not gonna make this easy for either of you!" I told them, throwing the vampire into a nearby tree before casting another spell. "Ignis!" I threw a flame of fire towards Claire making her yelp and block the fire and hold the barrier.
"d.a.m.n it! Laine! Get your a.s.s up and take her down!" Claire yells at her friend while I grinned and ignited another flame for her buddy Laine.
"I'd like to see you both try!" I laugh out loud and threw another light beam into the air to give me enough to kick their a.s.ses.
