Hades, wearing his Helm of Darkness, was using its power to remain invisible, intangible and undetectable. Walking along for a few minutes he saw many familiar faces, eventually he came across a beautiful woman with black hair, black eyes and pale skin, much like himself. It was Hecate the G.o.ddess of magic, sorcery, witchcraft, crossroads, trivial knowledge, necromancy, ghosts, and the night.
She was one of the few people Hades could call a friend. Their personalities were practically identical with how similar their situations were. Both had been denied a throne on Olympus due to the fear and distrust of others. In the books she apparently resented not being honoured by the demiG.o.ds and being ignored by the Olympian G.o.ds despite her many years of faithful service, leading to her supporting Kronos in the Second t.i.tan War. She also grew tired of the Olympians mistrusting her and refusing her a seat in their hall.
Hecate used to spend all her time alone in cave because the darkness was where her power thrived, the G.o.ddess loathed the light. Hades had offered her a small home in the Underworld, to which she eagerly accepted. The t.i.taness/G.o.ddess was more than happy with this arrangement, as the darkness of the Underworld made it a better place for working magic than a drafty cave.
Hades walked up and stood next to her making himself visible. Hecate immediately shrieked and called forth her strength in preparation. It wasn't until she saw the chuckling Hades did, she calm down.
Schooling her features, she spoke calmly, "Greetings Hades. I have told you many a time to refrain from lurking." As much as she tried to hide it, he could hear the irritation in her voice.
Hades nodded understandingly, "Yes I know, 5 times I believe." He spoke helpfully.
"And yet you insist on continuing these childish antics, unbecoming of a G.o.d, an Olympian. Not just any, but one of the big three." Hecate could never understand why such a powerful being acted so idiotically at times.
Hades didn't respond and started to walk towards where the wedding ceremony would be held with Hecate following along.
The two G.o.ds received many looks from the bystanders. Most were fear, others loathing and wariness. Only a few of them acted naturally.

They soon arrived at a ma.s.sive Hall with a few of the major G.o.ds and some minor ones. Hades immediately made a beeline for his mother Rhea and greeted her lovingly. Rhea kept in touch with all six of her children, and they all have a strong mutual love even Hades.
Hades tapped his mother on the shoulder, not wanting to scare her. "h.e.l.lo mother, am I late?"
Rhea turned around and came face to face to her first-born son. At sight of hm she couldn't help but smile, "Not at all Hades. I'm actually relieved to see you, I was worried you wouldn't attend, since you spend all your time alone in the underworld and scarcely leave. You didn't even attend Poseidon's wedding to Amphitrite". She said softly, whilst giving him a hug.
After their short embrace the two immortals were joined by Hecate who finally caught up. "That would my fault mother, I do spend far too much time alone in my domain. But do not worry, I have invited Hecate to join me there due to our shared love of the dark, so I won't be as alone." He said appeasingly.
Rhea was surprised to hear that her lone wolf of a son had invited a G.o.ddess to stay in his domain and began to grill Hecate about Hades's ongoings in the Underworld as he was a very secretive person, unlike his brothers who bragged to their mother about all their exploits.
It was a few minutes later that the trio sat at a table and were soon joined by others. Poseidon, Demeter, Amphitrite and Hestia sat with them at the large table especially reserved for close family. Hades discretely signalled to Hecate and she got up and left, he did not wish to have the argument he knew would happen if she remained seated with them.
When Poseidon saw Hades a tinge of anger bubbled in his chest. "Greetings brother, I was not expecting you to attend Zeus's wedding as you had not attended my own." He growled.
Hades could only sigh, having seen this conversation coming, "I told you at the winter solstice brother and every winter solstice before that, I did not attend because I did not receive an invitation." He said desperately.
Poseidon narrowed his green eyes accusingly, "But you do not deny having knowledge of the ceremony?" He asked.
Hades shook his head, "I am also a G.o.d brother, how could I have not known of your wedding? However, it was held in your domain and without your permission I could not intrude lightly."
"So, you did not think to contact me and ask?"
The two continued to argue until Hestia Demeter and Rhea eventually put a stop to it. Hades had thought that his brother did not want him there as he had not received an invitation, but apparently, he was supposed to personally seek Poseidon out and ask for one. He could scoff at the ridiculousness of it all. He remembered the aftermath of the wedding when the oceans raged for 3 days straight as a show of his brothers displeasure.

It wasn't long until Zeus and Hera arrived at the wedding, both dressed in old, but beautiful Greek fashioned clothing. They proceeded with the ceremony, Hera cut her hair to shoulder length, signifying her previous virginity. They both proceeded to bathe in holy water known as a Loutra. A small Loutrophoros, which like a big vase, was pa.s.sed around by the G.o.ds. Each of them blessing the water inside to show their blessing towards the marriage.
After the ceremony everybody stood up and applauded. Zeus and Hera were practically shining with happiness, much to Hades's amus.e.m.e.nt. He inwardly snorted as he thought of all the affairs that would take place in this marriage and couldn't help but pity his sister.
One by one the G.o.ds approached the newly wed with different gifts. Most of them were useless to G.o.ds who could have anything they wanted, but after witnessing for himself the grudges a G.o.d could hold, he was determined to give a good gift. Hades stepped forward and gave Hera her gift first. It was a dagger made of Stygian iron. This was a metal that could only be found in the underworld and had been cooled in the river Styx. Because it is cooled in the River, only children of Hades/Pluto and children of Underworld deities were capable of wielding it, with the exception of some powerful deities who can also wield Stygian Iron. Hera was Olympian and the queen of Olympus, safe to say she was strong enough to wield it. Any monster killed with this dagger wouldn't reform.
Hades had then gifted Zeus a whistle made of Stygian ice. This was the same whistle Percy Jackson used to summon h.e.l.l hounds. Safe to say the G.o.d and G.o.ddess were happy with their extremely unique gift rather than just being handed more jewellery.
Hades said his goodbyes and immediately left for the underworld along with Hecate.

It was eight years later, and Hades had already ordered the fates to leave his children and their mother alone the same way he had himself, to keep them safe. When It came to his children Hades had split his power into another body to make sure that they would always have a father around, besides from him, Nadia practically spent all her time with them.
When growing up he had taught them to speak more than one language. Other than Ancient Greek, which was a given, he had taught them to speak German and English. German was the first language he learnt in his past life and English was learnt in school.
Both children seemed to have personalities similar of that of their father, preferring solitude, but enjoying the company of those close to them. Although Macaria was far more curious and adventurous than her brother.
He had taught them the history of everything that had happened since he was born, including the temperament of each G.o.d. He had done this to show them that avoiding the Olympians were in their best interest. Hades didn't paint them in a horrible light, just a troublesome one.
Thanatos and Macaria had been cooped up in the Underworld from birth, not having left even once, much to their annoyance. Despite his two children's pleading, Hades had remained firm in his decision for them to remain in the Underworld until they could defend themselves.
Most DemiG.o.ds showed signs of their abilities when they reached their early teens, but it was when Thanatos and Macaria reached eight years old that they both sprouted bat wings from their back, much to their shock. The twins spent days flapping around the Underworld, having fallen and broken bones many times. From that point forwards Hades had begun their training.
The first skill he chose to teach them was how to use a weapon, Thanatos had trained with a sword and shield whilst Macaria learnt the way of the spear and dagger. Both of them were naturals like all big three DemiG.o.ds, becoming rather skilled within two years. They still had a long way to go, but Hades was happy with their progress.
When they reached 10 years old he trained them in their control of the earth. Children of Hades were able to cause earthquakes and control rock thanks to their fathers domain of the underworld, this was a skill he planned to for them to hone greatly. In the books most DemiG.o.ds had little experience with their power and usually used weapons, but they would be different.
This pattern continued with them spending a year on each subject, shadow manipulation, bone manipulation, necromancy and the limited ice manipulation they had.
After they finished training at the age of fourteen, the prince and princess of the Underworld were granted permission to leave their home and venture to the surface. Hades knew that as soon as they left to the surface the other G.o.ds would know of their existence but forcing them to stay here would turn them bitter and spiteful, which served to help n.o.body.
