In this neighbourhood, everybody lived their lives as if treading on eggsh.e.l.ls. All because of one particular household: the Lees.

People surnamed Lee were a dime a dozen, but these particular set of Lees were unique. Dysfunctional.

The family consisted of four people; the father and breadwinner Lee Do Joon, the delinquent son Lee Hyuk, the top student Lee Gun, and the town's most beautiful girl Lee Yeo Ri.

The Lees lived in a small house overlooking a field, and behind them were rows of houses and villas of their neighbours. The house next to theirs—the one at the end of the row—had been empty for years, and on their left lived an old lady who lived by herself.

There were many reasons why the neighbourhood community usually avoided the Lees, and the most important reason was that they were afraid of Lee Do Joon.

He was an abuser. He abused his kids. And before his wife went missing, he abused her too. And this trait pa.s.sed on to his eldest son. Lee Hyuk was seen to be the same as his father: a hotheaded troublemaker who uses his fists to talk. n.o.body wanted to be on the other side of their knuckles, so everybody kept their mouths shut.

However, Lee Do Joon only hits his sons. Never once had he ever abused his daughter, the sweet Lee Yeo Ri. It was only for this reason that the neighbours have yet to report the authorities on his behaviour.

Lee Yeo Ri was regarded as a saving grace, but before anybody knew it, the saving grace was slowly disintegrating from within.

Hidden underneath her perfect, angelic smile, was a girl that was slowly being crushed and torn apart.
