Chapter 25.6: Separation does not mean pain

Zheng Xie took Xiao Liu’s car and send He He home. He took a blanket from the back of the car and handed it to He He. “You get some sleep.”

He He shook her head, turned to him with a hint of regret. “Cen Shi needed to go back tomorrow, so the timing is very tight. So….. I was planning to tell you when we were leaving.”

Zheng Xie said: “Never mind. As long as you are okay. How are you recently?”

He He gently nodded.

Zheng Xie sent He He home. Because he was worried about her, so he stayed with her.

He He wash the rice and pour the rice into the pot and started cooking the porridge. Then she moved a chair and sat in the kitchen. She hold a book in her hand but rarely reading it. But she patiently stare at the flames, stood up and opened the lid to see from time to time the porridge.

Zheng Xie asked: “Would it be less troublesome to use the electric pot to make the porridge?”

He He replied: “Cooking this way is more fragrant.”

He He is still wearing her clothes from the hospital. Looking tired but with a stubborn expression.

Zheng Xie said: “You were rained on today, right? Go and take a shower. I can help you monitor the fire.”

He He whispered: “No. I really am okay. You do not worry.” When talking, her eyes keep looking at the pot and does not turn to look at him.

The atmosphere in the house is very boring. Zheng Xie wanted to say something but just don’t know how to start. So he paced the floor in circle and asked: “Where is your cat, Xiao Bao? You did not bring her along with you when you left.”

He He said: “I left her at a friend’s place. My mother does not like cat.”

After cooking the porridge for over an hour, the porridge is finally ready. He He wash the container several time before carefully pour the porridge into the container.

Before that she asked Zheng Xie: “You are some porridge as well. This porridge is very good. This is the first time I cook it.”

Zheng Xie shook his head. And waited for He He to get ready. Then, he insisted on sending her back to the hospital.

When he sent He He back to Cen Shi’s room, he did not enter. After He He has walked away, Xiao Liu that Zheng Xie has asked to help around in the hospital came over: “The doctor say, Mr. Cen will be discharged tomorrow. Ms He He is also not hurt, so you do not worry.”

Zheng Xie said: “You stay here and let me know if there are anything. Tomorrow, please arrange for vehicles to take them back. If there are any other issues, you go and solve it.”

Xiao Liu nodded: “Then you go back and rest early. You look pale.”

Zheng Xie went back to his resident. He felt very tired. He fell asleep fully clothed the moment he lay down.

Zheng Xie rarely have a dream, only occasionally perturbed dream. But now his dream began with confusion. He dreamed of the first time he met He He, the tiny baby that opened her eyes for the first time and revealed toward him an angelic smile. Then as she grow older, he held her, carrying her, holding her hand and on various occasions where she followed him. Later she stated to quarrel with him, refuse to let him lead and ignored him. As she walked further and further away from him, Zheng Xie came forward to pull He He and hold her hand. And this time, she just hold his hand. He turned back to laugh but there is a flash and the face become Yang Wei Qi.

Then Zheng Xie woke up full of sweat. His head is spinning. He got up and found that it is already nighttime. He turned to look at the table, it is very late at night.

He got up to get himself something to eat. Although he did not had any appet.i.te, he tried hard to swallow.

It has been many days where he tried his best not to think about Yang Wei Qi. Did not expect her to appear in his dream.

Back then, he did not finished his words, Yang Wei Qi hurried to get away. Although she is sometime silly, but most of the time, she had a sound mind. She probably know that he wanted to say. Then she travelled for work and has not come back. She did not give him a call while he never bothered to call her. Things are just left as it is.

Zheng Xie felt guilty towards Yang Wei Qi.

Everyone did not misunderstand. He really wanted to marry her. Perhaps not really love but he did liked her. She is the right person to be his wife. He has never longed for earthshaking love.

His life since the age of five had always been in a placid. There are no little surprises and he had the same behavior towards marriage as well.

He never thought that things would become like this, to the extent that he could no longer calmly fulfil his life plan.

These days, Zheng Xie occasionally recall the moment when he knew the truth. What exactly came across his mind? It is because of the grievances and heartache of He He over these years or is it because he had done something wrong and he is ashamed once he acknowledged it?

In fact, he really had nothing to think about as his mind is already black. It is only clear to him that this time, he will ultimately lose the trust of people. He should end the relationship with Yang Wei Qi as soon as possible.

He could not use the ident.i.ty of Yang Wei Qi’s boyfriend to go and discuss about the future with He He. This way, he will insult three people.

He was planning to marry He He. In additional to this, he has no other way but to make himself feel at ease.

Is it to compensate for what happen between him and He He or is it because of other reasons, Zheng Xie had never carefully thought about it. He instinctively feel that it is something that he must do.

As in over the past years, he had never imagine to want He He to be his wife. But at the moment that he decided, he does not exclude such a thought, except that he had not been able to live up to his promise with Yang Wei Qi.

Why? What does He He man to him? What does it mean? He never made it clear.

But perhaps it is no longer valid so there is no need to figure it out. The more he want to make it more clearly, the more useless it is for him

Like some words, he never had a chance to say it. And now there is no need.
