The Doctor wiped her tears.

"Can you tell me again what happened again?" he inquired.

"Yes, Of course."

"I am in the canteen of the hostel Mess. It is night time and the year is 1978. I just completed my duty and came down looking for a cup of tea before going back to my room."

"Today was not a good day. The administration had reprimanded the professor's daughter who had got internship in the same hospital as I had got. She was caught bunking her duties without informing the senior doctors. While she was being reprimanded and I was being praised."

"Her father had come that day and was very angry."

"Instead of taking his daughter to task, he wanted to teach me a lesson. He came to the canteen and while I was making tea, he put a hankerchief with choloform on my mouth and my nose. I fainted. He then turned on the gas after closing all the doors and windows and quickly left."

"I died that day, but I saw him doing this deed when I came out of my body."

"I chased him that day. He was in a hurry and while crossing the road he was. .h.i.t by a speeding vehicle."

"I went back to the Canteen but it was too late. Someone had caught the smell of the gas and called the emergency. They managed to shut down the canteen and the kitchen. It was considered an accident. But I know it was murder."

"Then what happened?"

"Nothing much, I went to this place where I was made to recuperate for some time. Then I was born again but died at the age of 10."

"I do not know exactly what the year was. My house was burnt down and my parents and I died in that fire."

"Near Kiev in Ukraine. There is a village nearby. Our farmhouse caught fire due to short circuit. People thought it was done by the neighbours as there was an enemity between my father and our neighbour regarding land."

"Do you remember the name of the village?"

"It begins with a 'K'. I cannot remember."

"Ok can you remember the name of the family ?"

"Yes, it was something Gagarin."

"Anything else you want to say?"

"When the fire burnt our farmhouse it was Christmas day and the USSR had broken up. There was chaos. Independent countries came up from the old USSR. Ukraine also became an independent republic."

"I was 10 years old in that month."

"Hmmm, Can you describe the neighbours?" The Doctor asked.

"Yes a little. The old man was not nice and his wife was not so good but she was not bad. They had a son by the name of Fedor and his wife was called Nikita. The son and the daughter in law were nice people. They had got married recently."

"Did you have a happy childhood there?"

"Yes, I was an only child."

"Like I said we all, my parents and me, died in that fire."

"Now Tania, I want you to come back to the present where you have come to the clinic for treatment."

"I will count backwards from 10. When I reach 1 you will be wide awake. ok."

Soon Tania woke up.

As the Doctor counted from 10 backwards to 1, Tania woke up from her trance like state.

"What happened?" She asked.

"Nothing," the Doctor replied.

"Tania would you care for a gla.s.s of water?"

Before Tania could say yes, he had already called his a.s.sistant on the intercom asking him to send three gla.s.ses of water.

The a.s.sistant brought the water and as soon as he left, Tania started asking questions.

"What happened?"

"How was it?"

"Actually, some missing pieces you added today," the Doctor spoke with a thoughtful expression on his face and carried on saying, " Like last time, I recorded your replies to the questions I asked you."

"I do not think you remember anything?"

"No."

"I think you need to listen," saying this the Doctor pressed the play b.u.t.ton.

She then went back to the canteen but it was too late. The smell of the leaking gas alerted some people and emergency was caled. They managed to shut down the canteen and the kitchen but her death was declared an accident. But she know it was murder.

She had proceeded to a place for recuperation.

She then described about another life of 10 years when she along with her parents, had died when their farmhouse had caught fire. People thought it was not by short circuit but people thought it was done by the neighbours as there was an enemity between her father and the neighbour regarding land.
