The jet was ginormous! Yoona ran towards the white vehicle with widened eyes. To see a plane this close was enough to cure her curiosity. She felt like a kid again. The entrance was followed by a flight of stairs. Two attendants and the pilot were waiting to greet them with smiles.
Ji-ho glanced at the machine. He let the air puff his cheeks. "It's pretty good."
Minhyun let out a smile. He wasn't one to brag about his belongings but seeing Yoona admire his property made him excited as well.
"It's an honor to see you again Mister Chae Minhyun," the pilot greeted. He took off his hat, placing it against his chest while bowing.
Minhyun nodded in acknowledgment before walking up the stairs. Behind of him Ji-ho and Yoona followed.
Yoona leaned in towards Ji-ho's ear. "You say you're rich. Can you afford something like this."
Ji-ho was reluctant to answer. "Well... If I took on a few more projects and took the millions Minhyun owed me originally than probably."
The uncertainty in Ji-ho's voice made Yoona understand that the jet costed more than a fortune. After all, the white-haired boy was usually unfazed by expensive items. He was well off himself.
Cushioning their feet, a material resembling the red carpet was placed on the floor. The room they were residing in was futuristic; one large white couch was placed on the left with a large flat-screen on the other for everyone to see. Behind the rest area was a black bar lined with all types of alcohol. Bright, colorful lights lit behind the bottles resembling a club-like atmosphere. Behind the bar was the kitchen where the flight attendant would prepare food.
At the back, there was an area for the security guards to reside in for they could not be in the same s.p.a.ce as their boss.
"You know..." Yoona began. "Sometimes I feel like i'm in a dream. This is crazy."
"The interior designer made everything a bit too flashy for my tastes but its nice," Minhyun said. Since he was busy with work, he didn't pay attention to the plane designs. In the end, he was given this. Not bad, but he preferred a simpler atmosphere.
Then he grabbed her wrist and brought her to the left side of the plane. He whispered in her ear: "Let's sit on the couch."
"A couch... Are planes allowed to have couches?"
"If you're rich enough."
Yoona let out a giggle. "A touché."
After a few minutes, all preparations were set. The pilot began to count down and the plane rose from the ground to the sky. Fear riled up in Yoona's chest since it was her first time being in the air. The fact that there was distance between her and the ground frightened her.
However, with Minhyun's hand linked with hers, she was able to understand that everything was fine. In the meantime, she admired the view from above. The buildings became minuscule and soon all she could see was clouds.
Since Ji-ho was distracted by whatever mobile game he was playing on his phone, Yoona decided to strike a conversation with Minhyun. It felt like they hadn't seen each other for a long time. Although she greeted him with a hug, there was something surreal about having him beside of him. A slight air of awkwardness surrounded them as well.
"So how's life been?"
"Good," Minhyun replied. He glanced at his phone. Email notifications piling up. "I've been getting a lot of work done. Actually, lately I'm trying to lessen my perfectionist side so that I have more spare time on my hands."
Yoona widened her eyes. "Really? So you'd be at home more often?"
He nodded. "I will."
At first, Yoona was really happy with the new development. The fact that he was trying to change his work ethic to be more efficient so that he could see her more often was heart-warming. However, a realization came to mind.
Wait a minute... Since the Moon siblings were handled, didn't that mean the threat had disappeared? There would be no reason for her to stay at Minhyun's house anymore. Now, she would be safe in her own apartment.
A weird feeling riled up in her chest. But why didn't she want to go back home? The truth was that Minhyun's apartment was very very nice and it would be hard for her to transition from luxury to her pig sty. Plus, moving out would limit her chances of seeing Minhyun as well.
"That's great!" She set with a nervous smile. Due to her conflicting feelings, she didn't want to mention this fact to Minhyun. Now that the threat was gone, staying at the house would be similar to 'mooching' off of him. She wasn't sure how to feel about it.
Yoona knew Minhyun wouldn't care. But she did.
"What's wrong."
"Hm?"
Minhyun took another sip. "I can see it written all over your face."
The human lie detector. Why did she even try?
"You need to stop reading my mind!" Yoona exclaimed. She placed her hands in front of his face, blocking his vision from seeing her.
He placed his hand on hers, bringing them down. An eyebrow was raised. "It's not me reading you but that you are too easy to read."
"I - I..." She couldn't deny the facts.
"Besides. Don't change the topic. What is wrong?"
Yoona let out a sigh. "Well. I was just thinking. I moved into your house because of the Moon siblings but now that their done, that reasoning for me staying disappeared."
Minhyun stayed silent for a moment. "You can still stay. My house was always empty. Now that you are there, you are bringing it life. That is more than enough a good reason for you to stay."
He really knew how to speak to her heart. Too smooth. She really needed to step up her game.
"Well," she began. A giggle escaped her lips. "I didn't want to move out anyways. Your house is too good. I'm going to miss Gloria like crazy."
Minhyun let out a chuckle. "Have you even used Gloria before?"
"Nope. But the fact that she's in the house is good enough for me."
He shook his head. "You're so weird."
"I know."
"But that's also why you're so special to me," his low voice muttered. "You're you. Unique from anyone else in the world."
The atmosphere suddenly changed. A spark flickered in his eyes and the two stared at each other. Yoona could feel Minhyun's body heat against her skin and the wine had slowly gotten to her. Freaking h.e.l.l.
The proximity lessened.
Were they going to kiss? Yoona wasn't sure what was going on but the tension between them was strong. Perhaps it was due to their break, but after a strong ending, not seeing each other brought built up tension in their hearts.
"f.u.c.k! I lost! f.u.c.k you RolyPoly62!" Ji-ho threw his phone against the seat.
The atmosphere broke.
Minhyun and Yoona stared at each other before bursting into laughs.
