Blade Online Chapter 3

The reason why I choose long sword is because I practiced kendo before. The long sword’s shape and length is the same as the bamboo and wooden sword that is used for kendo, I thought because I’m familiar with swinging it, I could easily be accustomed when I play. However, I never thought that because of that choice I’ve become like this.

《Safety Town》 is the name of the town that the player would first visit in the world of 《Arcadia》. The same as its name, A safe town that monster does not approach. Because a new town can be created if you conquered an undiscovered area , it will probably become useless in the middle stages but at the beginning stages, Its an important base town of the players.

The actions of the players that was transferred in 《Safety town》 are divided into three. Someone who immediately started to move to a discovered area in solo, someone who recruits and creating a party and someone who’s not doing anything believing that they will be rescued. I do not believe that rescue will come and I think that acting solo is dangerous so I decided to joined up with my fellow beta players. However…….

「Garon, Why!? Didn’t you say that we will create a party together!?」

The big bulletin board was made for the sake of 《Blade Online》 players to use, though there is three companions joining with Garon, I was refused by the companions and thought that I would not be able to make it. The reason is because of the Long sword. Although, Long sword is a failure, isn’t having a lot of companions is better. One of Garon’s companion disapproved in a disdainful way ,「I can’t trust you」 and etc. Garon and this companion are acquaintance in other games and it seems that they meet in the real life many times. That is to avoid their backs from danger from me who they only got acquainted in beta-version. Well, I understand that being cautious of an area where monsters are and being able to PK when they leave the town but as for this, I believe that its harsh.

Garon’s height exceeds 180cm and as for my 175cm figure, it was despised. With a burning like red hair and carries a great sword on his back coupled with a terrifying intensity. Garon is apologetic but said in compelling voice while lowering his head 「I’m sorry」 and leave somewhere with his companions.

By the way, face, hair, appearance and other trivial places can be change in this game but only the skeletal structure can’t be changed. If the skeletal structure was raised high or lowers, the center of gravity would be out of sync and it became impossible to move well, I hardly tamper my face and hair. Well, those kind of things are now trivial.

「Hey, that guy is a Long sword user.」
「It seems that he will be a burden if we make him a companion.」

all the players turned their eyes and saw my appearance and make fun of it, this reactions is…. I had a bad feeling about this…

That bad feeling suddenly became realized. Its impossible to became a companion of anyone. They avoided partying me just because of long sword. I can’t believe this. Even if the management said such thing, this is too extreme. I understand being cautious in this crisis but, you don’t have to go that far to say that. Isn’t it having a lot of companion is better…

After that, I tried my best to make companions for around an hour in town but, I’ve been refused by everyone. How about searching for other Long sword user who moves in solo and successfully make companions or maybe they’re in an inn but, they didn’t exist.

Honestly, this is seriously bad. Its worst, I’m late to move in solo and I don’t have companions. I’m really not in mood to shut myself in an inn.

When I look for companions in the bulletin board…『Another long sword user wwww』 and 『Akatsuki is really desperate www』 was written. The name in bulletin board is able to make your name into anonymous, those guys who writes in my recruitment were all anonymous. This is awful. I can’t make a companion at all.

I’m in a daze however, with just that as a reason, I’m not going to stop. I have no choice but put into use my beta-version knowledge to conquer an area. In any case, a good place for leveling is already full of players. Sigh.

Monsters in the first conquered area 《Wild Forest》 are not strong. However, its the end if you got surrounded so going in level 1 is dangerous. Still, I can’t helped it. This long sword user Akatsuki will conquer it.

I went to a shop which NPC manages and gathered recovery medicines, and I left for 《Wild Forest》. Is that how its supposed to be but halfway, I met my little sister.

「Shiori?」
「Nii-san」

It seems my little sister’s appearance is hardly change so I found it out in one glance. A flowing like black hair and snow like white skin, a gentle high nose. Its like an unbelievable beautiful woman even though we have the same parents. As I thought, a game lover like you is also playing this.

around my little sister are at least the same high school student of two girls and two guys. They might be in a party. Of course there is no long sword user among them. My little sister is a one-hand sword user.

「Nii-san? Isn’t that the guy who is a long sword user that is being ridiculed in the bulletin board.」

Though a man talked to my little sister in perplexity, My little sister glared at me and ignored it. I reflexively step back once because of that intensity.

「You’re already a good-for-nothing in reality and it seems even here, you’re still a good-for-nothing. Isn’t it natural that no one wants to party with you. We also don’t have any intention make you join our party. Please don’t talk to me」

The surrounding companion says 「Is that okay?」but my little sister didn’t say anything, she turn her back to me and walked. The companion compares me with my little sister and after that followed her while lowering their heads.

I could not do anything but just stand dumbfounded for a while. It is still good to be deserted by other players. But I hardly endured being deserted by my blood related little sister. Even though you hate me because I did nothing but coveted money in grandmother’s house but, It might now an emergency concerning a matter of life or death But even so, I was deserted. Both anger and sadness rises.

「…I should go」

I’ll temporarily postponing the matters with my little sister. Now is important for a way of conquering.

The monsters that appears in 《Wild Forrest》 in the beta-version are only four kinds, Slime, Giant Caterpillar(Crawler), Green Slime and Floating Eye. The boss exist in the deepest part is Hungry Tree.

Excluding the boss, it is somehow possible to defeat the monsters that appears in level 1. But monster does not necessary moves in one. Its considerable severe if you got surrounded.
Though there is not enough tension when inside the game, I focused my mind when I saw the entrance of 《Wild Forrest》. Though it seems that there is a lot of players nearby. Basically, you need to use your own power to advance. Being in a party is different.

「nn?」

The s.p.a.ce just before the entrance slightly cracked. Is this the thing that often happens where the background of the game becomes strange? It seems to be not yet complete even though this is a state-of-the-art VRMMO. I wonder what’s going to happen if I touch this?, I put a finger in a cracked part and with a 〈tsun〉, the part where I poked breaks entirely and a big hole appeared.

「What the heck, is this?」

The moment that I tried to look inside the hole, I was pulled by something and was dragged inside. The hole seems to be connected somewhere and I was falling with my head first.
