Chapter 8: The Engagement is Dissolved

Her words made Shen Jiayu pause, his face at a loss. A moment later, he seemed to remember something then his face changed.

"What do you mean?" Father Song asked solemnly, his expression suddenly becoming dark.

Song Wenxin, seeing that she cannot stab Shen Jiayu, no longer continued.  Instead, she suddenly dropped the kitchen knife and crouched down crying

Looking at Song Wenxin's appearance, the expression of the Song family became even uglier.

"Shen Jiayu, what's going on? Is what Song Wenxin said true?" Song Jiamu grabbed Shen Jiayu's collar and asked him angrily.

"I…" Shen Jiayu was just about to explain, however Song Jiamu had already raised his fist and fiercely punched him in the face!

"Our engagement is dissolved. Get lost!" Song Wenxin shouted towards Shen Jiayu while sobbing.

Shen Jiayu is her nominal fiancé. When they were young, because of the good relationship between their families and coupled with their business dealings, they were betrothed.

When she became an adult, they gave them an engagement ceremony without even asking her opinion.

They were to get married as soon as she graduated from university…

As for Shen Jiayu, Song Wenxin did not really want to marry him. Aside from not having any feelings for him, there's another reason.
