"Loki." As our group stopped just before Odin's throne, a middle-aged woman with beautiful features called softly.

Loki froze for a second before he turned to face her. "h.e.l.lo, mother. Have I made you proud?"

Mother? So this woman should be the wife of Odin, Frigga?

"Please, don't make this worse." Frigga gently said to Loki.

"Define worse?"

"Enough!" Suddenly, Odin shouted, making the two of them stop. "I will speak to the prisoner alone."

Obeying her King and her husband, Frigga left the throne room. The only one left in the throne room is Odin, Loki, Thor, me, and my party. I was about to leave the room with my party when Odin stopped me. He said he'll talk to me after he's done with Loki.

I don't really want to hear your family drama, but whatever. Loki took a step forward and suddenly laughed.

"I really don't see what all the fuss is about?" He said with a playful smile on his face.

"Do you not truly feel the gravity of your crimes? Wherever you go there is war, ruin, and death."

"I went down to Midgard to rule the people of Earth as a benevolent G.o.d. Just like you."

"We are not G.o.ds. We are born, we live, we die. Just as humans do."

Oh? I did not expect this. How are they not G.o.ds? Are they G.o.ds only in name; only in Earth; only in myths? Or are G.o.ds not immortal? Are there different tiers in G.o.dhood? I have so many questions that needed answers just from this conversation.

However, even if I a.s.sumed that they are indeed not G.o.ds, I cannot deny the fact that Odin is in possession of G.o.d-like powers, and Thor has the capability to do so in the future.

Right now, I'm still a mortal. My physical body limits my capabilities, but I'm glad that my mortal body doesn't limit my magical abilities. It's still doable for now, but I think I need an upgrade sooner or later. I'm sure I will face stronger enemies on my quest to collect the stones.

I listened to the father and son argue after recovering my thoughts.

"If I'm for the axe then for Mercy's sake, just swing it. It's not that I don't love our little talks it's just… I don't love them." Loki said with seriousness.

"Frigga is the only reason you're still alive, and you'll never see her again. You'll spend the rest of your days in the dungeon." Giving his final sentence, Odin leaned back to his throne. The Einherjar restraining the handcuffed Loki pulled the chains back.

"And what of Thor? You'll make that witless oaf a King while I rot in chains?" Loki said while glancing at Thor by my side.

"Thor must strive to undo the damage you have done. He'll bring order to the nine realms and then, yes, he will be King."

Thor was surprised at the declaration and looked at Odin. A flurry of emotions flashed through his eyes, but otherwise, he said nothing. We watched as the Einherjar dragged Loki to Asgard's dungeons, wherever that is.

Finally done with Loki, Odin turned to me.

"You're here to seek our help?" He said while glancing at Lynn.

"That's a misunderstanding. You see, I'm here to seek reparations."

After I'm finished speaking, Thor stepped up.

"Father, Loki is the cause of all this." He said while pointing at Lynn. "I promised them Asgard's help; I will not go back on my words."

Odin studied his son's face, before finally accepting. "Very well, you shall lead them to meet Asgard's finest doctors to get her cured. I would like to speak with him alone." He said while staring at me.

I nodded at Morgana and Karla to tell them that everything will be fine. This, too, is within my calculations. I watched as Thor led the way, with Morgana and Karla slightly behind him. Morgana casted spells to control the floating Lynn, making the unconscious body follow them.

After making sure that they were gone, I started the conversation with Odin.

"They say that G.o.ds will know if someone's lying, right? I will tell you now. I don't plan to conquer the universe with the stones, nor destroy everything with it. I just... need to get somebody back."

This conversation might well be the deciding factor of the future universe's power balance. Odin fully knows that.

"Lying is one thing. Change is another. When you wake up one day, suddenly having the urge to turn everything into chaos." Odin squinted his eye. "How do I know you won't suddenly change your mind? Hm?"

"You won't." I and Odin stared at each other. He's trying to figure me out. I'm trying to convince him.

While I do know that there's nothing absolute in this world, and there's indeed a chance that I might suddenly change my mind; I won't bend in that easily. I've experienced being corrupted with the power given to me before, and look at the result. I made a vow to never let the stones consume me since I formed the plan to collect them. That's what I'm trying to tell him.

Finally, after a long time of silence, Odin spoke.

"Fair enough." He stood up from his throne holding the Gungnir. "I, Odin Allfather, give you my word. With the authority given to me as the Protector of the Nine Realms, these words shall henceforth be the truth."

As he said the last word, he lifted the Gungnir up and swiftly brought it down. It produced not only a sound that reverberated through the entirety of Asgard, but also a magical vow declaring Odin's approval. He then sat back down on his throne like he's exhausted. I think that spell alone must've consumed quite a lot of G.o.d-power.

After the discussion about the stones, I also brought up the topic of Lynn. Together, we went to see how Lynn's doing in the medical chambers.

He and the doctors of Asgard inspected her, but they only found out the information that I already have. The elements of death are consuming her, and there's indeed no other power that can stop it other than the stones.

However, it is good news that they have some sort of a medical bed that can slow the process down. Although I can do the same with the Tesseract, it would leave me a little distracted every time there's a battle. More importantly, the Tesseract's capability would be limited. Having Lynn occupy one of these beds in the most protected place in the universe decreased the weight on my shoulders a little.

However, I still did not forget about my main objective. I need to find the appropriate stone to remove Lynn's curse. In my knowledge, only artifacts on the level of the Infinity stones have that capability.

So far, I only have the s.p.a.ce stone in the Tesseract and the Mind stone in Loki's scepter. These two stones don't have any ability that I can use to resolve Lynn's problem, so I might need the other stones for that. Power, Time, Reality, and Soul. The best bet that I can think of would be the Reality and the Soul stone, if they work exactly like how I imagined them to be.

Leaving Lynn inside the medical chambers, I had Morgana and Karla walk around for a bit while I went to the place where Odin hides the most important information on the nine realms. I was expecting a huge and grand library, but I was greeted by a small, dark room instead. It only has one or two bookshelves, a table and a chair, and a lamp placed in the middle.

Although this is a little disappointing, the magic placed in this room to prevent theft is something that even I cannot comprehend. However, that's why I'm here. I need to learn Asgardian magic and the theory of the Bifrost to help them fix it.

"Now then, let's start studying. Geez, I feel like I'm back to high school all over again." I picked up a book in one of the bookshelves. But before I could open it...

"Greetings, mortal." A voice resounded inside the small library.

Surprised, I swiftly turned around while preparing to cast a spell. What I saw was an elderly woman dressed in a red garb waving her wrinkled fingers in my direction.
