"Can't believe an Axonn like you is acting so childish." Nova smacked the carrot thing into Atlas's mouth. "Must be so delicious!"
The alley was spooky and muted at night, so even a needle dropping would sound like an explosion.
Ears twitching, they heard faint shuffling from both sides of the dark alley way.
"Watch out!" They yelled simultaneously, rolling in opposite direction to evade the attack.
Duo knifes gleamed deadly at their original position, slicing into solid ground.
Two cloaked figures appeared atop the side buildings, crawling in a Spider-Man signature position. There was another figure behind them, commanding them to do their next move.
Atlas glanced at Nova, signaling left while he pounced towards the right, clenching needles between his fingers.
Nova withdrew his close ranged weapon from it sheath. It was long triangular dagger, wide at the hilt and coming to a sharp point. It was a parazonium, with the wild mixture color of dark purple and charcoal black.
Atlas flung the Aura coated needles towards the three men, only to be deflected with robust swipes of their Aura.
The two Spider-Men separated, providing a better view for their leader.
Nova's parazonium clashed with his opponent's. Energy waves ripples in all direction, shattering the windows of a nearby car.
Atlas flicked his wrist as the inconspicuous bracelet expanded into a snake-like chain. His opponent's dagger drove towards his vulnerable neck. Atlas retreated one step to loop his wrist with the chains, jerking it forcefully for the dagger to be released.
The opponent attempted to escape by twisting his wrist brutally, but he underestimated the st.u.r.diness of the chains. Atlas dragged him closer, aiming the needles edge at his forehead.
Danger exploded in his mind as he felt a powerful source of energy blasting towards his heart.
He spun his chains along with the struggling opponent, turning at an angle where the onslaught wouldn't be lethal.
The needles between his fingers dug into the cloak a.s.sa.s.sins forehead as the attack grazed his right arm. The a.s.sa.s.sin stopped moving.
On the other end of the battle, Nova was backing off with the opponent's precise attacks, metal sc.r.a.ping.
Throwing his parazonium from his left to his right hand, a flash of light temporarily blinded the opponent's sight. The parazonium in his right arm blended into the shadows, its tip protruding out the enemy's chest.
Close call, but he succeeded.
Burns. It burns!
Atlas staggered to stay conscious.
[It's poison. I was too unaware!]
It felt like millions of little bugs were chewing his flesh on the tiny graze, infiltrating his body and taking over control.
"Easy mission!" The leader jumped off the building, raising his fist for a final blow.
Gooseb.u.mps suddenly formed all over him as a bad feeling hit his guts. He turned back, only to see his shadow colliding with another laughing shadow, as if a ghost was playing tricks.
Nova wiped the parazonium on the man's shirt, whose throat was currently spurting out blood, and withdrew it.
He rushed towards Atlas.
"Yo! The cut's all black and sh*t! You alright?"
"I'm fine. For now." Atlas popped a pill from a bottle, a worried look on his face. "I can't stop the poison, it only slows it down. I need something powerful enough to destroy or corrupt the poison inside my body. Only then can I transfer it out.
Nova frowned sternly, clenching both his fists. "I might have a solution, but I don't know if this method will work."
"Doesn't matter. Just hurry up. I'm paralyzed."
Nova slung Atlas over his shoulder, deserting the wreck and the three cloaked bodies.
Dropping Atlas on the sofa, Nova stretched his arms. Inserting a couple of needles weakly on his right arm with his active left hand, Atlas restrained himself from moaning in pain.
Nova rubbed his hands like defibrillators, as if he was ready to deliver an electric current.
His left hand lit up luminously like the brightest star, and his right dimmed so dark it consumed light, like a black hole.
"I'll be giving this move its first name——"
With a moderate clap, he buckled his hands together.
"Corruption!"
