Arena Chapter 14

"My name is Kim Hyunho and until recently was studying for the civil employment exam. What are everyone's name?"

I spoke after being in a awkward feeling situation for a while. People we have to at least know each other name don't we?

The cooperative student answered.

"My name is Lee Junho. I'm a freshman at Korea university."

As expected he was a university student. I was thinking that he looked young but to be really twenty years old...

"Lee Hyesoo.  I was a office lady."

The woman in her twenties' name was Lee Hyesoo. Seeing as how it was past tense she must have quit her job.

The only person left was the thirty year man seeing as Park Gochan introduced himself in the previous fiasco.

"My name is Kang Chunsung. Martial artists. I'm from Shanghai."

A martial artist from China!

That was when we figured out why Kang Chunsung wasn't afraid of Park Gochan.

Park Gochan's expression became even uglier. If he really attacked he will have gotten himself in a world of hurt.

After the introduction it became awkward again so we just walked.

Occasionally the student Lee Junho and I exchanged a few words.

The office lady Lee Hyesoo occasionally retorted at our conversation but seeing as she was almost raped by Park Gochan, she didn't talk much due to the trauma.

"I'm starting to get thirsty. Is there any water?"

The student Lee Junho spoke.

"I'll have a look. Silpi!"

I summoned Silpi for the first time after the second test started.

-Meow.

Silpi who appeared in empty s.p.a.ce rubbed her head against my cheeks.

"What is that?"

Lee Junho who was shocked asked. Lee Hyesoo, Park Gochan, and Kang Chunsung also looked this way. I said this.

"This is the spirit summoning skill I got from karma rewards. This is a wind spirit named Silpi."

"Spirit summoning skill? Was there something like that in the support skill section?"

"This is a main skill."

From my words many of them had a big reaction.

"It's a main skill?!"

"You're saying it's a main skill?"

"Main skill?"

 Lee Junho, Park Gochan, and even Kang Chunsung was also surprised.

Kang Chunsung who had really few words asked me.

"How many karma points did you get from the first test?"

"500 karma points."

Park Gochan had a face saying that he couldn't believe it.

"Silpi check if there is water nearby."

-Meow!

Silpi flew quickly away.

While that was happening I asked the others.

"What did you guys get for your karma reward? We need to know that so we can cooperate in our fights later."

"You are incredible. I only got 270 karma points for my first test. All the main skills that I could learn all cost 400 karma points so I couldn't learn them."

The cooperative student answered first.

"Because there was no choice I learned from the support skill 'physical enhancement' to level 2 and used the rest of the points on a shield. I'll show you."

As he said that he summoned a round leather shield. It didn't look like he had a weapon.

"What exactly is physical enhancement?"

Because I didn't have a support skill, being curious I asked.

"It's exactly what it says. It just a skill that enhances your physical strength. The first level makes your body up to the level of a healthy male adult, the second level gives you a good athletic ability."

Lee Junho feeling embarra.s.sed scratched his head.

"Since my body was originally weak so I first learned up to beginner level 2."

Lee Junho may be small but his body looked strong. But that looks like it's thanks to the support skill rather than exercise.

"That's a great skill. My physical ability is pretty bad too. How much karma points did that take?"

"The level 1 cost 100, level 2 cost 150 points."

It was basically a revolution in his health.

I also had a complex against my body that had nothing to show for it. But if I buy a support skill doesn't that mean I can become buff!

'After this test I better buy it.'

Park Gochan cursed while complaining. Lee Junho flinched at those words.

"I got physical enhancement up to beginner level three and also received a sword."

"Level three?"

Park Gochan already had physical condition that was equivalent to a level two physical enhancement. That's why he could learn level 3 physical enhancement.

'That means if I have a healthy male adult's body then I could start learning from level 2.'

I learned something useful.

This time it was Lee Hyesoo's turn. Hesitating for a moment she nervously spoke.

"I learned physical enhancement to beginner level 1. That is all I have, sorry....."

"That's okay little lady. I said I'll protect you."

Lee Hyes...o...b..came pale from Park Gochan's perverted words.

Silpi returned with great timing.

"Did you find some water?"

-Meow!

Silpi pointed to left direction and drew in the air a number 293.

 We headed in the direction Silpi pointed. While walking I asked Kang Chunsung.

"What did you choose for your reward?"

"400 karma points. I chose aura control level 1.

400 points. It's  a lower score than me.

I could roughly envision how everyone's fight went on the first test.

The red ape ambushed Kang Chunsung and just like a martial artists would, he dogged and made a mess out of the red ape in his counter.

Anyway that aura control seemed perfect for a martial artist like him

Then Kang Chunsung spoke again.

"It's now at beginner level 4."

"What did you say?"

"Even if you don't have karma you can increase your level with training."

This was a shocking truth.

You can increase your level without karma points just by training!

'Huh, but the time he had for training in aura control should be only 11 days?'

I felt suspicious so I asked Kang Chunsung.

"Did you raise your level by 3 in just 11 days?"

"Aura control had many similarities to my school's fundamentals. I practiced my entire life so it was easier."

I felt that Kang Chunsung was incredible.

So he basically didn't have aura but had beginner level 4 skills from the beginning!

This was at a level where I didn't think he was a candidate that just finished his first test. I really wanted to see how strong he was.

Anyway I could roughly see how we can fight in my mind.

I shoot my gun from a distance, the three men stands at the front and protect Lee Hyesoo.

'In the end Lee Hyesoo is the problem. She doesn't have anything other than beginner level 1 physical enhancement. At least she had a healthy body comparable to a adult male so she should be roughly the same as me or better maybe?'

Lee Junho also only had a shield. He needed to acquire a weapon.

'If we cut down a tree and make two spears it should be somewhat usable right?'

If the enemy we have to fight are the red apes as I predict it to be, then it will be quite effective.

"How long have we walked?"

We arrived at a flowing stream.

A rabbit that was drinking water started running away.

"Silpi!:

- Meow?

Silpi was summoned.

"Catch the rabbit!"

- Meow!

Silpi flew towards the rabbit that hid itself in the bushes.

Soon after, Silpi returned holding the rabbit's back legs in her mouth. The rabbit struggled to get free from Silpi who was floating in empty s.p.a.ce.

I first grabbed the rabbit by the ear and asked Silpi.

"Can you make the wind sharp as a knife and cut the rabbit's head?"

- Meow.

Silpi nodded her head.

I grabbed the rabbit and went towards the stream. I lifted the rabbit on top of the stream and spoke to Silpi.

"Do it."

- Meow!

Silpi cut the rabbit's head with wind sharp as a knife.

Shik!

From the rabbit's head blood flowed out. The stream was now full of blood.

After losing it's life, the rabbit went limp. I grabbed his back legs and turned it upside down to let all the blood drain out.

"That's pretty handy!"

Park Gochan said lightly, impressed.

It's good up to their but he says some unnecessary things.

"From now you be in charge of food."

My face becomes ugly.

'Why is that b.a.s.t.a.r.d giving orders huh?'

I even have some anger from being hit by Park Gochan. If I could I would have cut that b.a.s.t.a.r.d's head off too.

'Let's leave him alone for now.'

I was boiling inside.
