Apocalypse Cockroach Chapter 239: Mysterious Black Figure

The scene of how Zhang Xiao Qiang sent the S2 flying kept replaying inside the mind of the driver and he would live on to brag about it even after a few decades.

Even on his dying day, his mouth never stopped talking about it. At his deathbed, his few sons thought that their father still had something to say and placed their ears close to his mouth.

“Heh……none of you saw it….the monster flying in the air….heh…..only I caught it…..heh”

With that said, this man that became Zhang Xiao Qiang’s loyal soldier, from a small soldier in the Armor unit to the highest ranking official pa.s.sed away, leaving his children perspiring in cold sweat.

The S2 fell from the sky while bullets continued to rain down on its body, dropping pieces of flesh into the back of the old tractor. Fortunately, the people inside were unaware of everything that was happening above their heads. Even when the pieces of flesh dropped onto them, they did not dare look up. Finally, the S2 died from exhaustion as pieces of its corpse fell like rain. By the time the S2’s main body dropped to the ground, the off-road vehicle that Zhang Xiao Qiang was on ran over it and turned it into black meat paste.

The old tractor and the off-road vehicle continued to advance forward and left the buildings behind. Zhang Xiao Qiang let out a sigh of relief and turned to look at the horde of Type-S zombies chasing after them. He took out a hand grenade, released the safety pin and threw it down. The oval-shaped grenade bounced on the hard ground before being pushed underneath the horde of zombies.

“BOOM….” the loud explosion instantly wiped out the front few rows of Type-S zombies that were trampled upon by the zombies behind. By the time these zombies trampled over the Type-S zombies, the off-road vehicle had pulled a large distance away from them.

Zhang Xiao Qiang took aim with the HMG and helped pave a road for the old tractor. Countless headless zombies littered the ground and in the blink of the eye, both vehicles were about to charge into the wilderness.

It was as though some Almighty being did not want to let the survivors that had struggled inside the city for half a year escape, two Type-S zombies charged to the old tractor from the left and right…..Zhang Xiao Qiang’s off-road vehicle steered to the right of the old tractor, allowing Zhang Xiao Qiang to blast the zombie’s head off. But the zombie at the left was free to engage the old tractor as they watched it jump into the carriage, which was followed up by screams.

Seeing the situation falling apart, Zhang Xiao Qiang jumped onto the roof of the vehicle and climbed to the windscreen. Using both legs to hook onto the steel HMG post, he smashed the window apart with his right hand.

The driver was the bearded man that carried Su Qian out of the disgusting house. After tr.i.m.m.i.n.g his large beard away, he looked rather young and different. Without his signature beard, Zhang Xiao Qiang did not recognize him, but he looked at Zhang Xiao Qiang sprawled across his windscreen in shock.

Zhang Xiao Qiang looked at the unfamiliar yet slightly familiar driver and used his right hand to point at the old tractor, then gestured for them to get closer. The driver nodded his head and increased the speed of the off-road vehicle.

Zhang Xiao Qiang watched as blood flew out of the back of the old tractor and held onto the King Rat Blade anxiously.

Eight meters….four meters…..two meters….Zhang Xiao Qiang could clearly see the Type-S Zombie chewing over the remains of a twitching corpse. The remaining survivors huddled to one corner together and buried their heads beneath their legs, none of them dared to look at the Type-S zombie.

One meter…. Seeing that none of the weak survivors dared to fight back, Zhang Xiao Qiang thought of giving up on them. But upon thinking about the young child at the front pa.s.senger seat, Zhang Xiao Qiang jumped over with the King Rat Blade.

“AH….” Zhang Xiao Qiang’s sudden entry naturally shocked the cowards in the corner. His heavy body smashed into the crowd and caused them to scream.

Covered in fresh blood, Zhang Xiao Qiang stood on the roof of the vehicle and used the 6x Binoculars to observe the zombies in the distance. Adding his sharpened eyes, it was comparable to an astronomy lens. Through it, Zhang Xiao Qiang saw the two dead men corpse being dragged by a few Type-D zombies into the city.

The blood stench from the corpses attracted layers of zombies, yet none of them dared to move recklessly. There were even a few large D2s standing together with ordinary zombies around them. The D2s stood tall like trees with a clearing in the center. Zhang Xiao Qiang’s vision was blocked by the large statures of the D2s. Adding that the distance was too far, he was unable to see anything.

The Type-D zombies that dragged the corpses walked towards the D2s. The ordinary zombies in their paths actually opened and made way for them. Zhang Xiao Qiang used the binoculars to watch them and watched as the zombies suppressed their primitive instinct of eating the corpses to make way for the corpses to be dragged.

The front D2 that blocked the zombies dragging the corpses moved. It did not grab and eat the corpses but made way, allowing the corpses to be dragged to the empty s.p.a.ce behind it.

When the D2 made way, Zhang Xiao Qiang caught sight of a faint figure. It was not big, just slightly taller than the D2’s calves. When the D2 moved again, it blocked the figure and prevented Zhang Xiao Qiang from seeing it. The most distinctive feature of the figure that Zhang Xiao Qiang caught sight of was its large head, which was about three-quarters of its entire body.

Zhang Xiao Qiang put the binoculars down and jumped into the off-road vehicle. His three subordinates bundled the dead machine gunner’s body, the few of them clearly affected by his death. They were a group and lived together. Although they had scuffles and small contradictions daily, they were on friendly relationships and considered comrades-in-arms. Seeing their brother that they communicated and played with bundled up in the cold tarpaulin, their eyes turned slightly red.

The old tractor stopped at a side and the pa.s.sengers on board unboarded the vehicle. The dead Type-S zombie and the unlucky male were left in the back. The men gathered together and whispered to each other, the ladies except for one knelt down at the side and vomited. The lady that did not vomit had disheveled hair and Zhang Xiao Qiang was unable to make out her appearance but concluded that she was still young from her busty figure.

This lady that stood out from the ma.s.s walked in circles on the spot and muttered to herself incomprehensibly, her hands occasionally waving about as though trying to grab onto something. At this point, Zhang Xiao Qiang knew that she had gone insane from witnessing the zombie eating another person.
