Chapter 144: You’d better make up for it!
When he came to the car, he saw Shangguan Qiao Yun hugging herself, her shoulders shaking uncontrollably. Seeing that, he made no attempts to console her, nor hug her to placate her. Those who came of their own accord, he would not reject, and he would seek to gain some minor advantages if he could. Those who did not, he would not beg nor plead it. He sat in the car and waited for the ravaging madmen to be dragged out.
He did not understand how he also came to become the head of this group of men so suddenly. However, since it could be counted as him having saved them, their respectful treatment towards him was to be expected. He would not do those good deeds that didn’t leave his name, that was Lei Feng, not him, Zhang Xiao Qiang. His principle was that, if you do right by me, I’ll do right by you. If you were to go against me, then we’ll have something to discuss.
(Lei Feng – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lei_Feng)
Zhang Xiao Qiang could be considered a miser, who loved to take advantage whenever he could. However, he would not do so just to benefit himself. In fact, he would always repay in some other manner. Since Shangguan Qiao Yun allowed him to sleep on her legs, he had decided to take care of her, and his att.i.tude towards her was slightly better. Since Common-face had brought men to charge in with him, he had handed him the .92 handgun. Although he didn’t have any bullets, that was still a gun, wasn’t it?!
Yuan Yi continued to hug herself, her shaking went on. There were sounds of her sobbing, and Zhang Xiao Qiang could hear her muttering 3 words to herself, over and over again. Why?
(In Chinese, ‘why’ is ‘为什么’ Wèishéme)
“Because they have lost their protection, and their weapons.” Zhang Xiao Qiang replied. She lifted her reddened eyes to look at him, without blinking.
“The most important thing is that they have lost their strength, without strength, you would just become fodder for others. If other people wanted to eat you, they would chop your limbs off to feed on it. If they wanted your thighs, they would cut your thighs. Don’t think that it’s not going to happen. I’ve already seen such a case. Her limbs were chopped off and eaten, and yet she was kept alive, waiting for that sick b.a.s.t.a.r.d to cut her up day after day. Her daughters had even seen her in that state….”
His words had not yet finished, Shangguan Qiao Yun opened the door and vomit outside. After a while, she sat back in, her eyes dazed, and her face devoid of any color. She looked at Zhang Xiao Qiang with an overwhelming sense of terror, and uncertainty.
“You might be beautiful now, but will you be beautiful forever? What happens when you’re 40? 50? When you have lost your a.s.sets and bargaining chips, without strength, what else can you do, except be eaten?”
Zhang Xiao Qiang’s words were like needles that p.r.i.c.ked her heart, and her heart thumped wildly as though it was being ground in a meat grinder. A sharp pain caused her to lose consciousness, as she slumped back in the seat. Her sudden reaction scared Zhang Xiao Qiang, and he gaped at her. There was no response even after 10 seconds until Shangguan Qiao Yun’s breathing became even more erratic. Her face turned an unhealthy shade of gray, and Zhang Xiao Qiang hurried to hold her in his embrace, finally realizing that there was something wrong.
“Heart disease? What the f.u.c.k do I do? CPR?”
Zhang Xiao Qiang watched helplessly as her breathing became even more rushed. He was at a loss, none of his family or friends had such a condition. Shangguang Qiao Yun’s breathing continued to blow on his face, and seeing that she was about to ascend to heaven, Zhang Xiao Qiang gritted his teeth and muttered: “f.u.c.k! Forget it, treat it that I’ve must have owed you from our previous life! This must be payback, if it doesn’t work, then your fate is really rotten! Who could have expected your heart to be so weak?!”
He fumbled through his haversack, not taking the Life-Preserving Pill, nor the blood coagulant, that was only useful for flesh wounds and was of no help to Shangguan Qiao Yun’s current state. Instead, he pulled out a bottle of mineral water that had its label torn away, on it there were the words ‘84 Disinfectant, Do not drink.” This was Zhang Xiao Qiang’s resort for Yang Ke’er, there was no choice, she liked to rummage through his stuff too much. In it, it was the miraculous rainwater that Zhang Xiao Qiang had brought. There were about 2 cups worth in it.
He lifted her head up and opened the bottle to feed her. Her mouth was currently slack, yet she could not swallow. The water flowed down the side of her lips, and seeing her current condition, Zhang Xiao Qiang felt his heart ache, not for her, but because it was a waste of the rainwater. It was a treasure! One that could be pa.s.sed down through generations, and she had wasted at least 2 or 3 ml of it! In fact, he felt that what flowed down wasn’t the rainwater, but his blood. He kept the bottle and was on the verge of disregarding if she lived or died. However, since so much has already flowed, if she died like that, wouldn’t it be more of a loss?
“s.h.i.t, if you can’t repay this, your son better repay this, otherwise, your grandson will be the one to bear the debt! I’m really at a disadvantage today!!” He gritted his teeth and took in a mouthful, before hugging her and planting his lips on those lush lips of hers. His tongue went to contact hers, and slowly allowed the rainwater to flow into her mouth, and because her tongue was being stirred by his, she began to swallow slowly. Even so, the speed was not fast, and for the first time in his life, Zhang Xiao Qiang felt that kissing was a ch.o.r.e. He could not move, and his tongue had to move constantly, he could feel his tongue getting tired. His lips were also turning numb.
In his haste, his throat suddenly opened up, and a small mouthful entered his own throat. His heart clenched, this time, he had better pray that he didn’t get diarrhea again, otherwise, his a.s.shole would really not be able to take it.
In actual fact, Shangguan Qiao Yun had already regained consciousness, but due to the pain in her heart, she had lost mobility of her body. Her breathing had been automatic, and as her breathing became weaker, her brain started to gasp for air as well, and the suffocating feeling got more intense. She had no means of struggling, and her heart seemed to be stopping. She could be suffocated to death anytime, it could even be the next second. The torment of the pain continued to creep throughout her body, and as she waited for death, she began to pray for a fast death, to end her current misery.
When the cool water entered her mouth, she knew that it was that man that was feeding her, she tried to swallow, but she couldn’t. Her tongue wouldn’t move. Her breathing became worse, and she could feel the impending approach of Death. She felt at peace, like a little lake in a valley, without so much of a stir. Her life flashed before her eyes, and they popped like bubbles. Only the most vivid of memories remained longer than the rest before they also ended up like the others. She felt that her senses were failing, and her mind was at the clearest right now. She had already lost all sense of the world, and it was time to leave this earth.
