Chapter 138: Doing the D2 in
Yuan Yi slumped over the steering wheel, causing it to turn slightly. The front of the vehicle also began to slowly shift. As the head of the car drove against the wall at a certain angle, the entire car began to flip, trapping the D2 underneath it. Before the D2 could react, its thighs and arms were caught in the gears under the dump truck and were twisted.
The vehicle’s tires were still moving, and the immense force began to grind the bones of the D2, causing them to break amidst “chi chi” sounds. The loudest came from the thigh, where the breaking of bones sounded like a bamboo being snapped. The D2 screamed out long, and its useless limbs were caught dead in the gears, causing the vehicle to stop moving.
Zhang Xiao Qiang couldn’t be bothered about the appearance of the D2. He could only stare straight at the driver’s compartment, hoping against hope for Yuan Yi to crawl out. In fact, she might even be heavily injured. However, he saw the pooling of fresh blood outside the vehicle that was sideways, with the blood dripping slowly before forming a constant flow. Zhang Xiao Qiang felt a stab in his heart, and his palms clenched into right fists. A few broken gla.s.s shards were still in his palm, and they cut into his skin, causing fresh blood to drip from his palms as well. He did not feel the pain though, his eyes only filled with the sight of Yuan Yi’s blood.
“ARGH~~~~~” He screamed out while still laying on the ground. He slammed his head on the ground, causing his forehead to bleed, his tears flowing freely. His heart was torn asunder and felt like it was being twisted.
Zhang Xiao Qiang began to crawl towards the driver’s compartment. All thoughts of the D2, WH City, and whatever life he had clung on to was thrown to the back of his mind. There was only Yuan Yi’s blood in his eyes, and he knew that she had used her life in exchange for his.
He didn’t dare to think, he didn’t want to believe, the condition that Yuan Yi was in right now. He was still hanging on to hope, he wanted to see her once more, her beautiful smile, and her clear and soothing voice.
He continued to crawl slowly, the clothes in front of his chest being ripped by the gla.s.s shards on the ground. The beast hide sewn beneath was also beginning to be ripped apart. Then, all that left was his skin, as they were rubbed raw and sliced by the gla.s.s shards. He could no longer feel the physical pain of his body, all that he felt was the immense weight on his heart.
The D2 continued to moan out, and Chen Yi had a look of shock as he saw the D2 in this state. He had seen Yuan Yi driving the vehicle into the D2, and he had never expected her to be so fearsome and vicious.
Zhang Xiao Qiang crawled to the head of the vehicle, where Yuan Yi was still slumped in the driver’s compartment. Her chest area had been pierced in multiple places by the gla.s.s shards, and it struck out at Zhang Xiao Qiang. The amount of blood flowing from her wounds was unreal, and he hurried to climb in through the broken windshield.
He swept the gla.s.s shards away from her chest and used his hands to try and grab the blood coagulant powder. However, he couldn’t find it, then he remembered that he had dumped the whole bottle on Yang Ke’er’s body. He slammed into the steering wheel with his head, regretting his actions. He regretted his decision to not take the entire gourd because of his disgust towards Dr. Yu and his personal belongings. He had only stored a little in the gla.s.s bottle and had been overconfident that he wouldn’t need it.
He pulled out the Life-Preserving Pill to feed her, but her jaws were clenched tight. He placed it in his mouth and tried again.
Yuan Yi was currently unconscious, and she felt like she was walking slowly in the dark. There was no sense of direction and no goal. It was cold all around her, the sort that seeped through to one’s’ bones.
The bone-chilling cold made its way towards her heart slowly, and she wanted to scream out loud, but she could not make a sound. She tried to run, but to her horror, she found that she had lost control over her body. She began to shiver, and her heart was overcome by fear. She was terrified to stay in this dark and cold place. h.e.l.l would have been much better.
She tried to remember the sight of Zhang Xiao Qiang’s back and found that she could not remember anything. There was only the shadow of a man in her heart, without any face. She could only remember his back, and when she thought of that, her heart was suddenly calm, and the invading cold wasn’t as chilling as before.
Even though all she could see was his shadow in her heart, she thought of how much that meant to her, and suddenly, a gentle atmosphere arose in her mind. That warm atmosphere brought her a sense of warmth and comfort, transforming into little currents of energy in her heart. They sought to fight back the cold, and she suddenly found that she could detect a very familiar scent. It was comforting, and very familiar, seemingly combining with the image of the man in her heart.
Following that, the cold seemed to be banished away, and the darkness was receding. A light appeared, and she could make out the hazy image of a man covered in dirt, his face staring at her full of concern. The man in front of her merged perfectly with the silhouette in her heart, and she smiled. This was the first time she had smiled right in front of him. She knew that this man had brought her back from the cold place of despair. She was satisfied, extremely so, and for the first time, she felt that it was good to be alive.
When Zhang Xiao Qiang saw that Yuan Yi had woken up, he heaved a sigh of relief. The old doctor might have been deranged, but his medicine was truly something else. He had swallowed a little when feeding Yuan Yi, but he immediately felt the pain on his body lessening. He could even stand up now.
The D2 was still moaning non-stop outside, and Zhang Xiao Qiang whipped out his Jing Wei Sword, as he climbed out the driver’s compartment.
The D2 was caught in the gears of the vehicle, its leg stuck, and one arm having been crushed. It was a pathetic sight, and other than crying out, the D2 was essentially crippled.
As Zhang Xiao Qiang walked slowly over to its head, it could smell his scent, and it recalled the trouble this little rat had put itself through. The hatred surged and it began to struggle madly again, waving its other claw in a bid to pull itself out from the vehicle.
The dump truck began to wobble under the intense struggling of the D2.
Zhang Xiao Qiang walked over to the D2’s rear, and stood at the dead spot of its arm. He raised his Jing Wei Sword, aiming for the wound that his military knife had left, and stabbed down viciously.
As the Jing Wei Sword penetrated the socket, with Zhang Xiao Qiang’s entire body weight behind that strike, the sword pierced into the brain of the D2 with a ‘Pu’ sound. He continued to apply pressure while stirring the sword, intending to cause as much damage as possible.
“ROAR~~~~” The D2 opened its mouth to let out a roar of agony. Zhang Xiao Qiang felt a gust of putrid wind blow past him, causing the tattered cloth on him to flutter gently. He stepped with one foot on its face, his hands still continuing to drive the sword in the wound. Black blood and yellow brain matter flowed out from the large wound, and the claw that was waving in the air slumped to the side uselessly, causing the broken gla.s.s shards and spent bullets to scatter int he air. Its body also stopped thrashing about, as it laid there twitching once in a while. Zhang Xiao Qiang was still in that pose, his foot on the face of the D2, his hands twisting the sword constantly until he felt that there was no place he had missed out in the brain of the D2, before he finally stopped.
