The sun was beginning to go down and the heat would go away with it. For Kushina's sake, Jiro had Kana release some more heat from her body. As time continued to pa.s.s, Jiro could feel Kushina begin to stir. He knew he was somewhat in the wrong, but he wasn't sure on what to say. While still rubbing her head, Jiro felt that Kushina's breathing pattern changed indicating that she was finally awake.
Without looking at her, Jiro spoke. "Kushina, sorry for making you go through what happened earlier. Actions are much stronger than words. I wanted to let you know, now that I'm your sensei, don't feel afraid or ashamed at all to rely on me. I'll make up for this."
Kushina pouted as her anger was only partially doused out by Jiro's apology. She immediately responded snappily, "I expect something great from you sensei. It better not be something that sucks ya know."
Relieved that his apology had some effect, Jiro promised that it would be something great. While rubbing her head, Jiro pointed towards the Forest of Death.
"See that place with all the giant trees, it is called the Forest of Death. Usually, shin.o.bi only tend to go near the fringes of it and not completely inside. The strength of the beasts inside there go up in strength and the center is where the strongest beasts stay."
Kushina squinted her eyes, but she couldn't see anything at all. She only saw the setting sun in the distance and no sign of any trees.
"I don't see it."
"Try again."
"I still don't see it."
"Look harder. Don't just look with your eyes, a shin.o.bi doesn't see with just eyes."
"Stop being so mysterious about it. Sensei, you seriously suck at teaching."
"Alright I'll stop for now."
Kushina noticed Jiro's mischievous smile and angrily tugged at him. A content grin settled on Jiro's face as he observed that Kushina had the majority of her anger towards him from his earlier stunt dissipated.
"When you circulate Chakra through your body, you don't hit everywhere. It generally just goes through your limbs and body, but it does not concentrate on a certain area. You have to control your Chakra internally to move up towards your head and especially concentrate on the eyes. I guess this will probably be the first of many hurdles you need to overcome."
--------------
The sun was practically gone when they stopped by the monster tree. It still looked the same and there were no visible differences except that it seemed to be settling down to sleep as the sun slipped away.
A couple shin.o.bi looked up and noticed the blur pa.s.sing over the tree, but they didn't mind. The steady and immense amount of Chakra was easily recognizable as Jiro's and the Uchiha looked at the tree for a couple seconds with some little girl before their figures started to disappear towards the village.
Suddenly, the one who was in charge of watching the tree's Chakra immediately signalled for more help. The tree was suddenly acting up. It usually went dormant at night, but it was getting active again. As the shin.o.bi got ready to fight and the messenger got ready to move, the tree stopped moving.
The shin.o.bi suddenly noticed the presence of another ninja. They all turned and bowed slightly towards the silent figure before they moved back to their positions. The messenger still went to deliver the message.
"Jiro-sama, thank you for stepping in."
The shadow clone of Jiro glared at the tree once more before dissipating.
------------
Jiro came down to the backyard of where his family lived with a smile. Kushina was hopping around trying to vent some of her excitement and Kana was gone, intent on reclaiming her nest from whatever unfortunate beast that might have claimed it.
Jiro could smell a meal that he missed. The door was opened and he entered along with Kushina in tow. Carrying a kunai, he casually walked across the mat while blocking the kunais and shurikens being launched. The metallic clashing sounds alerted only Kushina who quickly made sure to follow close to Jiro.
Jiro entered the dining area and grabbed two nearby chairs before sitting beside Kushina who looked forward to eating.
"Jiro, who is this? I hope she isn't your candidate for marriage. Your brother still can't decide who to make a candidate and I'm going to make sure he gets a wife. I want to see my future grandkids."
Fugaku groaned at his mother's talk as he turned to his twin looking with curiosity at Kushina who was ravenously devouring the dishes at the table. Her chopsticks were being used to spear the food and the spoon was left alone. Akane took one look at her table manner before launching her chopsticks with deadly accuracy right at Kushina's hand.
Jiro plucked both projectiles out of the air and resumed eating with grace. The normally quiet and peaceful table of the Uchiha was pierced by the loud sounds of Kushina eating all the dishes. The family all exchanged glances before they too sped up their eating. Within moments, the table was empty and Kushina was contentedly rubbing her belly.
"So Jiro, who is she. And you better have a good reason to explain for that monster who was inside you. You have lots of explaining to do."
Jiro placed his chopsticks down and began to speak about his experiences.
-------------------
Akane and Junichiro glanced at each other while lying on the bed.
"It's good that Jiro wants to form more meaningful relationships now. Hopefully he'll get a wife before Fugaku. I think he's going to take forever at this rate."
"Remember, we married later didn't we?"
Akane sighed as her husband reminded her that their kids weren't that old yet. She knew that even though they were able to marry later, their kids might not have the luxury to marry so late in life.
"There is going to be another war happening. I want to see my grand kids before I have to move on."
"Me too."
There was a brief silence before the two Uchiha talked about the interesting sight they had seen at the dinner table.
"Her chakra is very interesting. It is much more peaceful and less active than most other people's Chakra."
"It looks like she might be the new person to host the nine-tails."
"I doubt it. Jiro doesn't like to share."
The two parents shared a laugh that warmed the cold, crisp night air.
"Did you notice?"
"That Jiro is now a lot more friendly?"
"No. He's less afraid of relationships now."
"Is that it?"
"I'm his mother, of course I'd know."
Junichiro backed away from his questioning as Akane got ready to scold him.
"It's only going to get harder from here."
--------
Kushina was feeling oddly stuffy. She got up from the bed she was sleeping in before opening the window. The rush of cold air instantly woke her up. She crawled back under the blanket and was about to sleep, but Jiro pulled the blanket away.
"Let's go, you want to meet your senpai right?"
She reluctantly got up and followed after the steps of Jiro.
Jiro stared at Homura and she stared back. In Jiro's mental recollection, Homura was a teen on the shorter side and she had a Chakra supply that needed improvement. She definitely had an improvement in Chakra supply, but she was suddenly a lot taller than he remembered.
"Is this a case of late bloomer?"
"Jiro. Um, what did you come her for?"
"I realized that I need to try harder in relationships. I think that I was a decent teacher for Genjutsu, but I feel like I sort of owe you more than just that. So do you want to come with me to Uzushiogakure?"
"Sure just let me go visit my family quick."
As Jiro and Kushina stood outside a home labeled with the surname Yuhi, Homura walked out of the house ready to go so everyone got onto the back of Kana. Except, Kana hadn't washed herself after destroying the beasts who had occupied her nest so she smelled of battle and slaughter.
"I'm washing you when we land."
Kana snorted in response to Jiro's comment and ignored him.
"Hey Homura senpai, why are your eyes red?"
"Almost everyone in my family has red eyes."
"Sensei, why do your eyes only go red on some occasions?"
"Read a book on it."
"It's because Jiro is part of the Uchiha clan. They have a unique Dojutsu which turns their eyes red when in use."
"What's a Dojutsu?"
"Kushina chan, did you ever learn at an academy?"
