The perfect afternoon silence Jos and Sh.e.l.ly had been enjoying by the pool was shattered as Russ, Arei, and Orion busted through the back doors at the same time a loud pop followed by what sounded like a lamp falling to the floor sounded from the office overhead. Arei laughed, "Hey, come on now. You're going to make us drop him then where will he be?!"

She clenched her teeth as she turned back toward Ry. "Why did you let this happen?!"

Ry furrowed his brow. "I helped, he wanted us to." He shrugged as he and Arei drug Russ past her. "The kid's tough. He's got a bright future ahead of him."

Arei chuckled, "If for no other reason that his relentlessness." Arei glanced down at the kid as he pushed the door open to Russ's room. He called over his shoulder to Jos. "Grab the smelling salts out of the hallway bathroom and bring them in. He'll be right as rain as soon as he's able to wake up and shift." He and Ry carefully eased Russ down on the bed as Jos came stomping into the room with the first aid kit, but before she could say anything more another loud thump sounded over head. Arei shook his head. "What in the world is that crazy Fairy up to now?"

Ry laughed, "Well I would volunteer to go see but last time I felt hungover for nearly a week." He held his hand out to Jos for the kit, but when she refused holding it tightly to her chest his smile fell flat. He nodded his head, "Alright, drained again it is..." He tapped Arei on the arm as he walked past him. "Come up with me, at least if she's up to something too crazy you can help." He motioned for Sh.e.l.ly to follow them back out of the room. Ry watched Jos carefully open the kit and break open a packet of smelling salts before he latched the door closed and turned into the hallway.

Another loud bang and some shuffling of furniture sounded up stairs. "Are you sure you want to go check on her?" Arei laughed nervously.

"I mean, how bad could it be?" Ry asked as more noises echoed from above.

Arei shrugged as he followed Ry up the wide staircase. "Well she is dark Fae isn't she, and I got to say man... I'm not looking too forward to being her magical jumper cables again." He said hesitating as they reached the top landing.

Sh.e.l.ly shook her head and gave a small snort as she brushed past him.

He sent her a teasing smile. "Yea, but she raised you... she hates us..." Arei called after her. They stopped at the closed double doors halted by the sound of m.u.f.fled voices. All three of them exchanged glances. "Maybe she's on the phone?" Arei replied as he and Ry both took hold of a door handle and pushed down. The wide open doors framed out the scene in the office perfectly giving Arei, Ry, and Sh.e.l.ly front row seats. Arei and Ry didn't even bother looking down, instead, they both through out their large hands to shield Sh.e.l.ly's eyes as their mouths dropped to the ground and their eyes all but popped out of socket.

Once the door was closed they exchanged glances before looking down at Sh.e.l.ly who was still staring at the door in shock. Ry ran his hands over his head. "That was awkward..." He met Sh.e.l.ly's shocked eyes. "I take it you've never met the Fairy Queen before?"

She shook her head vigorously.

Arei shook his head laughing "Talk about first impressions." He patted her head lightly before walking back to the stairs.

Jos released a breath she hadn't even realized she'd been holding when Russ's lashes fluttered and his confused blue eyes met hers. He moved to sit up, but she quickly shifted to cradle his head. "Careful αγάπη μου , you were knocked out."
