Chapter 46 — His Gentleness

Feng Lingran was a mysophobic master. Therefore right after leaving the arena, he threw the little fox into the bath.

"Clean up."

When Feng Lingran finished speaking, his handsome face looked at his wet bloodstained hands. He frowned, and his eyes flashed with disgust, this smell mixed with the bear's and the wolf's blood was very unpleasant. If it wasn't because of that ignorant little fox, Feng Lingran's pair of virtuous hands would never -in his lifetime, be exposed to this kind of disgusting stench.

The little fox come up from the water, and stared at Feng Lingran -once again, washing his hands in the golden basin. Her fox eyes blinked, and she clicked her tongue, if you liked to be clean so much, then don't carry her ah!

It was as if Feng Lingran grew eyes on the back of his head, "If you haven't clean all the blood, you're not allowed to come out."

"….." Overbearing!

The little fox turned her head, and stopped staring at Feng Lingran, her paws dug into the water making splashing noises.

Once Feng Lingran cleaned his jade white hands, he turned to see a certain little fox's crude behaviour. The corner of his mouth gently moved, and he changed into pure clean fresh robe.

When Qin Wen entered, Feng Lingran had already changed.

"w.a.n.gye, the Zaojiao1 you've wanted."

Feng Lingran's slender fingers took the Zaojiao from Qin Wen's hands, he swept his black eyes at the discarded robe on the ground, and indifferently said, "Deal with it."

The little fox's pointed ears twitched, he don't like how she dirtied his robe? So he's throwing it away?

The little fox's heart was very upset, it continued to splash the water.

"Yes, w.a.n.gye."

While Qin Wen was leaving, he glanced at the active little fox splashing in the bath. Fortunately this little fox was alright, it still can mischievously splash around like that.

Heaven knows, when the servants came running in a panic, reporting sounds of fighting from the arena, the first thing Qin Wen did was to relay it back to Feng Lingran. If it was before, even with animals slaughtering each other to death, he would have never told Feng Lingran.

The little fox was brought out of the arena by Feng Lingran.

Feng Lingran went to the pool's edge while holding the Zaojiao, "Little thing, come here."

But the little fox didn't listen to Feng Lingran and continued to splash the water.

Feng Lingran's expression contorted with displeasure, his black tranquil eyes gazed at the little fox.

The little fox did notice Feng Lingran's expressions, but she feigned ignorance. She did not want to end up like the black panther, imposing and prideful on the outside, yet willing to sever under Feng Lingran, this b.a.s.t.a.r.d. She would never surrender.

Suddenly, the little fox felt an attractive force. When it pulled her body, the little fox paddled at the water with all her might. But the distance between her and the water increased, her fluffy body rose higher.

What the h.e.l.l is going on here?!

The little fox opened her mouth in surprise, and her four paws were still incessantly… paddling.

Like a little turtle floating in midair.

Feng Lingran waved his hand at the little fox, and her fluffy body quickly moved backwards, its small paws were still frantically paddling forward, making the scene really comical.

The little fox was pulled into the hands of Feng Lingran, and very quickly he grabbed her four restless paws.

But Feng Lingran paid no mind to the fox's nonsense, he directly rubbed Zaojiao onto its body. This little fox's body still reeked with the smell of blood, which made him very uncomfortable.

After scrubbing the little fox, Feng Lingran took it to the pool of water. Just as the paws touch the water, her whole body tensed. She wanted to escape from Feng Lingran's clutches, but she couldn't leap out. The little fox's heart was very worried ah!

Feng Lingran this jerk was very cruel. She might get pushed into the water and drown….  

However, the little fox gradually stop struggling. She looked at Feng Lingran's slender fingers gently washing her body. Her fox eyes flashed with doubt, and raised her head to look at Feng Lingran.

"Ben w.a.n.g will order someone to bury the mother wolf's dead body."

The little fox almost thought she misheard, her eyes widen with surprise. He….he said… he would help her bury the mother wolf's dead body?

So… the mother wolf's corpse won't be eaten by other beasts, and also won't be thrown into the wilderness and pecked by vultures?

The little fox stared at Feng Lingran with grat.i.tude. She knew that with her strength alone, she would be unable to bury the mother wolf. But this man, as long as he moved a finger, can easily achieve it. He knew in her heart, if he was willing to help her, Xiao Xi would feel grateful.

The mother wolf saved her with its life, she too would protect the little snow wolf with all her life.

The little fox held back her tears, she took the initiative to get closer to the little snow wolf and lifted her small fluffy paws. The wolf cub thought that the paw was going to hit it, but the paw was placed on its cheek and began to move gently in a soothing motion.

Sorry, back then… I hit you several times.

The little fox apologized to the little wolf in her heart.

The little snow wolf was overwhelmed by the little fox's kind actions, its pair of wolf eyes were filled with joy. The little fox like it, the little fox didn't like the alpaca anymore.

Chapter 47 — A Smiling Angel

The little fox led the little snow wolf into the dining room. In the afternoons, the dining room would usually be empty, so the little fox wandered around freely, using her keen nose as a guide towards food. Very soon, there was a piece of chicken in her mouth, or more precisely, a piece of delectably cooked, succulent chicken in her mouth.

The second it saw the chicken, the little snow wolf's eyes started sparkling and it couldn't hold back its drool. Since its mother had left, the little snow wolf had been left starving for what seemed an eternity. Now it felt like it could eat a whole chicken by itself.

However, as hungry as it was, the little snow wolf did not s.n.a.t.c.h the food from the little fox's mouth. It cheerfully bounced in place, wagging its tail exuberantly like it was begging for the little fox's attention and waiting for her to 'reward' it.

It was such an endearingly silly scene!

The little fox knew that the little snow wolf was hungry, so she put the whole chicken in front of the little snow wolf. Seeing the little snow wolf's eyes so overwhelmed with grat.i.tude, the little fox made a toothy grin. Unexpectedly, the little snow wolf actually imitated her and also made a toothy smile.

What did a smiling wolf look like?

A description quickly flashed through the little fox's mind……a smiling angel.

The little snow wolf's eyes were clear. They did not have a trace of the solitary coldness or ruthlessness that a wolf would normally have. Its smile was also pure, like that of an angel spreading their flawlessly white wings. Together, the little snow wolf smiled so innocently that it could not help but attract loving attention to whoever saw it.

The little fox's heart broke a little. If it had not been for how well the mother wolf protected and sheltered it, the little snow wolf wouldn't have been able to reveal such a pure, innocent smile. It was because of her that the little snow wolf wouldn't even harm a chicken no matter how hungry it was.

The little fox's gaze softened as she watched it wolf down the chicken as if it was the world's most delicious meal.

Little snow wolf, you can eat slowly, the whole chicken is yours, no one will take it from you…

When aunt w.a.n.g entered the dining room to retrieve the food, the first thing she saw was the sight of two snow white beasts eating the chicken. She immediately burst with anger! How dare they! Those two wretched swines would get off fine, but she had had her salary deducted every month because of them! How dare they still come and steal food! Just watch! Today would be the day they finally died!

Aunt w.a.n.g rolled up her sleeves and picked up a broomstick in the corner. Like a fiend, she ran towards the little fox and the little wolf. However, when the fox turned around, she stopped dead on her track and stiffened. Startled, she dropped her broom stick and it fell onto her foot.

She jumped. Her shock quickly disappeared and hobbling on one foot, she ran after the two animals who had run out of the dining room..

"The little fox….The little fox…..It w.a.n.gye's little fox….Everyone! Hurry! Come help!"

This time, aunt w.a.n.g raced after them without any intention of harming them. Ever since she heard from the housekeeper that this little fox was very important, even if she had ten times the courage she had now, she would still be too afraid to hit that little fox!

Xiao Lu saw aunt w.a.n.g rushing outside, and her eyes flashed with astonishment.

The same little fox she had thrown into the beast field?

Xiao Lu was slightly surprised at the little fox's glare. That little beast clearly held a great lot of resentment towards her.

Was it because of last night's incident? Had it been looking for her to take revenge?

Ridiculous.

Xiao Lu walked towards the little fox, seeing how it hadn't moved away, she scowled maliciously. Was this little beast waiting for an opportunity to get revenge?

Xiao Lu's fingers throbbed, the injury on the back of her hand still ached dully. That little beast was the reason she had that wound. She really wanted to return the favor a tenfold by chopping off its paws. Let's see how well it could scratch people then.

She suddenly noticed the little snow wolf next to the little fox, she had seen it several times before. Every time she saw it, the little snow wolf was always following its mother, that mother wolf…..its eyes emitted a green glow, it was not a beast to be provoked.

Was the mother wolf nearby?

Suddenly, the little fox jumped up and threw itself towards Xiao Lu. She quickly crawled up under Xiao Lu's clothes.

Xiao Lu turned pale with fright and quickly tried to catch the little fox. When she managed to grab it, her neck suddenly erupted with pain. She let out a wretched scream, and mercilessly dragged the little fox off before forcibly dropping her onto the ground.

The little fox's back hit the ground very painfully, but it was worth it. She spit out a piece of flesh from her mouth. Xiao Lu deserved her punishment.

Xiao Lu pressed the wound on her neck, but could not stop the continuous flow of blood seeping through her fingers.

Xiao Lu's face twisted in pain. Her crazed gaze landed on the little fox. She picked her up with her right hand, radiating with killing intent.

Gnashing her teeth together, she shouted, "Beast! Just die!"

The little snow wolf seemed to sense the danger, and suddenly tackled the little fox out of her grasp. Turning towards the little fox, it howled, "Aowoo~ Aowoo~"

The little fox's body rolled on the ground a few times. Her heart squeezed at how much it resembled the mother wolf as the it urged her to leave. But the mother wolf had died, and so she could no longer protect the little snow wolf from harm.

The little fox quickly leapt up. She opened her jaw, revealing her sharp canine teeth and bit down onto Xiao Lu's fingers.

Xiao Lu's palm changed direction, it was a close call and the little snow wolf managed to avoid a calamity, however if her palm was to hit the little fox's body, the fox would be the one to end up dead instead.

"Aowoo~Aowoo~"

On the ground, the snow wolf saw the little fox in danger and urgently called out to her.  Probably aware that his call was useless, he suddenly rushed behind Xiao Lu. Hesitating for a second, he made up his mind and bared his teeth. Resolutely, he leapt forward and took a bite of her calf.

The little fox leapt off Xiao Lu's palm and towards her chest. Pulling open her lapel, she pounced into her clothes. Xiao Lu didn't expect the little fox to change the trajectory of her palm, nor did she expect that shameless fox to crawl into her clothes. The fox's soft fur grazed her skin, and Xiao Lu felt her whole body shiver, but very quickly, that was replaced by a sharp pain on her chest and her calf.

Why was that little beast so vulgar?!

Tears of pain leaked from her eyes. While reaching in to drag the little fox out, the pain on her chest had intensified.The little fox had her teeth clamped onto her chest…….

Xiao Lu heard the sound of footsteps getting closer. Someone would be arriving soon. She hardened her heart and forcibly dragged out the little fox while using her heel to kick the little snow wolf away.

The little fox held onto a piece of tender snow white flesh. Her eyes met Xiao Lu's murderous eyes, and her heart bursted with satisfaction.

If no one tries to bully, harm, or kill me, I will not bully, harm, or kill anyone. However, if someone tries to bully, harm, or kill me, have no doubt that I will bully, harm, or try kill them right back.

Since that is the law of this world, I, Xiao Xi, will abide by that law.

Xiao Lu's clothes were disarrayed, her bosom was out in the open for anyone to see, and blood had dyed one of her b.r.e.a.s.t.s red. Her fingers squeezed the little fox in her grasp.

Chapter 48 — Can You Respect The Wolf?

Little snow wolf was strongly kicked by Xiao Lu and painfully staggered back up only to see the little fox being fiercely gripped by Xiao Lu. The little snow wolf became anxious, its eyes flashed with a green glow as it darted against Xiao Lu's bleeding leg.

If the mother wolf was still alive and saw how the little snow wolf was finally acting more like a real wolf, she would have probably be able to rest with a smile on her face.

Unfortunately, she pa.s.sed away, but maybe, just maybe her soul and spirit were watching this scene?

The sound of footsteps gradually got closer, mixed with the clamorous voices of Guanjia, Pozi1, and little servants.

Xiao Lu frowned. She could not afford to stay here any longer. She still had to accomplish her Master's plan and failing because of these wretched little beasts was not an option.

Xiao Lu ruthlessly threw away the little fox that she had thought of choking to death. Turning around to face the little snow wolf that was unremittingly biting her leg. She gave it a palm, injuring him until he released her leg.

The little fox endured the pain ravaging her whole body as she ran to the little snow wolf's side and shook his body with a small paw.

"Squeak squeak… Awo Awo…"

The little snow wolf raised its head and saw the little fox. It was pleasantly surprised, had the little fox learned wolf's speech?

The little fox shook its head with twitching ears, "Awoo" she called uncomfortably, as if her lower jaw was about to fall down.

The little snow wolf thought that the little fox wanted to play with it and excitedly stood up, but its legs gave way almost immediately and it fell down onto its stomach again.

The little fox saw how the snow wolf was struggling to stand up. She thought that the little snow wolf was fine, but unexpectedly… he was actually injured.

The little snow cub beared the pain and attempted to lift itself back up to play with little fox, but it couldn't…

The little snow wolf looked at the little fox with distress. It was afraid that the little fox would not play with it and would leave to play with… the little alpaca.

"Aowoo~"

The little snow wolf used its call to urge the little fox to stay, it was very afraid that it would be left alone here….

Seeing the little fox use its paw to gently stroke his fur, the little snow wolf's heart felt an indescribable peace. But a moment later, the little fox suddenly turned around and ran…..

Little fox cupped both of its paws in a begging motion.

Feng Lingran's eyes flashed with astonishment and then slightly raised the tip of his brow, was this little thing begging him?

"You're quite the talented individual. While Ben w.a.n.g was gone, the entire Regent's Palace nearly got into a big commotion, and that was caused by you alone?"

The little fox was slightly dumbfounded, its round fox eyes looked at Feng Lingran. She did not make a commotion ah! She simply brought little snow wolf into the dining room to eat chicken, then suddenly b.u.mped into that rotten woman Xiao Lu. This fox and the little snow wolf almost died by that rotten woman's hands.

How could Feng Lingran wrongly accuse this fox?

"Squeak squeak squeak….." Please, please, this fox is begging you! Please save the little snow wolf's leg!

Feng Lingran stared at the little fox for a moment, he could hear that little snow wolf's desperate cries, as if the little fox had abandoned the pitiful wolf.

Hearing the anguished cries of the little wolf, Xiao Xi's heart felt as if her heart was breaking, as if she had betrayed her loyal follower…

"Squeak squeak squeak….."

Little fox looked at Feng Lingran with a pitiful expression, in order to make this man save the little snow wolf's leg, little fox also had to recklessly risk its life.

Feng Lingran gracefully lift up his slender finger and leisurely stated, "Are you going to bite this King again next time?"

Little fox stared blankly for a moment, then immediately shook its head. No biting, no biting, I would not bite you anymore.

Satisfied with the answer, Feng Lingran walked over towards the direction of the little snow wolf's loud cries while carrying the little fox.

Little snow wolf was crying loudly, but after seeing Feng Lingran's formidable face, it immediately shut up, no more loud crying. If this had happened in the past, the little fox would have definitely nodded, but now, even if the little snow wolf was indeed a stupid wolf, she did not want to admit it in front of Feng Lingran.

Feng Lingran, can you respect the wolf?

"Squeak squeak squeak….." The black panther you raised is the stupid one.

Feng Lingran could not understand the little fox's speech. All he could do was guess and interpret the little fox's paw gestures.

Noticing that Feng Lingran was carrying the little fox in his arms, Qin Wen's heart was relieved. Back when he heard old woman w.a.n.g's shouting voice, his heart nearly jumped out of his throat.

The little fox had just been found, they had to make sure to not lose it again.

"Go check that little snow wolf and see what's wrong with it?"

Naturally, Feng Lingran  would not crouch down and use his honorable hands to examine the little snow wolf's injury.

Except for this little fox, no one else has that privilege.

Qin Wen walked to the little snow wolf's side. The little snow wolf was slightly afraid at seeing a stranger approaching it and proceed to drag its injured leg, moving its body away on the ground….

Qin Wen used his hand to stop the the little snow wolf, it seemed to be frightened and opened its mouth at Qin Wen. This action happened very quickly and Qin Wen did not guard against it, he probably was not even expecting this meek spoiled little snow wolf to be able to hurt anything!

"Squeak squeak…….Awo awo~……" You shouldn't bite people.

The little fox called out to the little snow wolf while also shaking its head at it.

It was a thousand pounds hanging by a thread -that was a close call.

Little snow wolf understood the 'Awo awo', its canine teeth managed to touch Qin Wen's hand, but did not bite down. It had grown up with a wolf's mouth. So a hint of blood could clearly be seen on the corner of its mouth near the canine tooth section.

Feng Lingran narrowed his eyes, his finger pried open the little fox's mouth and he saw that the corner of its mouth had also change in color to a blood red. Feng Lingran's eyes turned deep, no wonder he had felt that the little fox's body mildly reeks of blood just now.

Feng Lingran had suddenly pried the little fox's mouth open without saying anything first, so the little fox nearly bit him in instinct, but seeing Feng Lingran's deep black eyes, the little fox opened its mouth obediently and looked away, remembering that it had promised this man, no more biting him.

Feng Lingran loosened his grip on the little fox's mouth. Suddenly he noticed two bright red pieces of flesh on the ground, he frowned and traced the little fox's back with his slender finger. Pain shot through its back, and immediately after pained squeaks was shouted out.

Chapter 50 — Would It Kill You To Shut Up?

After finishing a meal, the little fox burped in Feng Lingran's arms. Noticing him replace the jaded chopsticks for another pair, it secretly snickered. What use were there in replacing chopsticks? Feng Lingran, you've seem to have forgotten. These dishes have all been touch by this fox ah!

Feng Lingran elegantly placed a piece of chicken in his mouth, slowly chewing.  Little fox also raised its front paws towards its mouth, its body trembling in laughter. Feng Lingran, do you think that this chicken was roasted well? Fox also liked it! Did you notice that the piece of chicken you'd just ate have the taste of fox's s...o...b..r?

Suddenly, little fox head met with pain, it raised its head angrily at him.

"Squeak squeak squeak…" Feng Lingran, you dare smack my head? Want to die ah?

Only after Feng Lingran swallow the food in his mouth, did he unhurriedly spoke, "If you don't want to eat meals with Ben w.a.n.g, then Ben w.a.n.g can send someone to put it in front of your nest next time."

"…" Little fox licked the corners of its mouth. So petty, was laughing also forbidden?

In order for continue eating good meals, little fox became earnest and settled down. She laid in Feng Lingran's embrace, and didn't even laugh at him, even though she was not convinced.1

He really did bully fox too much, did he think Fox was a dog? Put food in front of her nest? She didn't want to be like a dog and eat from the floor.  

"Haha… Ben Gongzi really came at the right time! What a plentiful evening meal!" Wan Siyu walked in smilingly, and sat on the chair next to Feng Lingran, folding his fan and slipping it through his waistband. Spotting the jade chopsticks in front of him, his smile turned even more brilliant. "You've even prepared a pair of chopsticks for Ben Gongzi!"
